Ayan said casually, "No need, let's have the meeting first."
Since she didn't want to know anyway, he decided not to say anything.
Ayan was also feeling emotional because Camille had treated him extremely poorly for the sake of a movie, making him feel very aggrieved and uncomfortable.
When Ayan is engrossed in work, he puts aside all personal matters. The meeting lasted until 10 o'clock in the evening, and they only had a quick meal brought in by the other party's assistant.
After the meeting ended past 10 o'clock, Ayan returned to the hotel with Kian.
They would be staying here tonight.
On the way back to the hotel, Ayan sat in the back seat.
After being in a high-intensity work state for almost the whole day, he finally had some time to rest, so he promptly closed his eyes to relax. However, he didn't fall asleep and could still clearly hear Kian answering Yessica's phone call.
He didn't know what Yessica said to Kian, but he heard Kian say, "We just finished the meeting and we're on our way back to the hotel. Alright, you and the missus enjoy yourselves and rest early tonight. Yeah, I'll be going back in a couple of days. I still don't know for sure, it depends on the progress of the work. Okay, talk to you later, bye!!"
After the call ended, Kian put down the phone and cautiously glanced at Ayan through the rearview mirror. Seeing that Ayan had no reaction, he finally felt relieved.
After a half-hour journey, they arrived at the hotel. Kian got out of the car first and opened the back door for Ayan, then they entered the hotel together.
The room had already been arranged in advance, but according to their usual routine, Kian would accompany Ayan to the room first and only return to his own room after there were no further instructions.
Upon reaching Ayan's room, Kian checked the time and realized it was quite late. Ayan had eaten very little for dinner, so he asked, "Mr. Simpson, would you like me to order some food for you? I've heard the late-night snacks at this hotel are good."
Ayan raised his hand and rubbed his temple, his voice low and subdued as he said, "No need, I won't eat. I should rest early since we have a three-hour meeting tomorrow morning."
When Ayan said this, Kian immediately understood. He didn't linger and promptly left the room.
With Kian gone, Ayan was left alone in the room. He walked to the floor-to-ceiling window, glancing around at the dazzling lights outside, but his heart felt complicated and heavy.
He looked at his phone and saw no response from Camille. He had initially thought she was already resting, but from Kian's words, he deduced that she was with Yessica and Sienna, so she hadn't rested. Was she intentionally ignoring him?
But why did she call in the afternoon?
The more Ayan thought about it, the more his mood darkened and became gloomy. He didn't continue looking at his phone and absentmindedly placed it on the coffee table before returning to the bedroom.
He took a shower and then went to bed.
This trip to Campole to handle the collaboration was indeed quite challenging, and it had put him in a state of tension. His thinking was that since she didn't want to contact him, they should both calm down completely.
By the time he returned from the business trip, it would be at least another two or three days, and both their emotions would have settled down.
Otherwise, if she kept having moods and didn't want to discuss what had happened, he didn't know how to comfort her or guide her. It made him feel quite exhausted.
After saying that, Camille imitated Yessica by covering her ears, but she did it seriously, without any hint of laughter or joking. Yessica didn't think much of it and just wanted to convince Camille. However, when the words reached her lips, she didn't know how to express it.
In the end, she could only look at Sienna and say, "Sienna sister, look, I'm the only one who knows now. I've promised not to say anything, so you can trust me and tell me."
"I'm afraid she'll lip-read," Sienna referred to Camille.
Yessica was in a difficult situation. She understood the meaning behind Sienna's words, but she couldn't do it herself.
She looked at Sienna and said, "Sienna, how about this? Can you lean close and whisper it in my ear?"
Yessica was genuinely curious. Her curiosity was overpowering, despite having suffered losses in the past because of it.
Each time, she fell for it, and yet, she would continue to fall for it the next time.
And now, she had fallen for it again.
Sienna agreed to her request and leaned closer to her, whispering in her ear.
But Sienna's words instantly stunned Yessica. And instinctively, she raised her hand to tickle Sienna, resulting in both of them tumbling into a playful mess, filling the entire cinema room with laughter and joy.
Witnessing such a delightful atmosphere, Camille's mood was also infected with happiness.
