"Got it, I'll contact him directly."
"Alright."
After ending the call, Ayan's expression turned somewhat somber. Camille couldn't help but ask, "Is something wrong? Why didn't he contact you personally?"
Ayan replied casually, "Probably not convenient."
With that, he dialed Horace's number directly.
After a beep, Horace picked up after a couple of seconds.
Without waiting for Horace to speak, Ayan immediately asked, "Mr. Burris wants to see me?"
"Yes, is Mr. Simpson available? If possible, can you come out for a meeting?"
"Is it urgent?"
"A bit."
Ayan squinted and calmly said, "If it's urgent, why didn't you contact me directly?"
"I thought it would be better to have my secretary arrange it, to avoid leaving any traces," Horace considered it carefully. But Ayan didn't mind and asked, "Can't you just tell me this way?"
"I thought it would be better to discuss it in person, so can I?"
"Come to my house," Ayan glanced at Camille. She didn't have any objections of course, so he added, "If it's convenient, bring someone with you."
Since Horace felt it was inconvenient and unsafe to discuss over the phone, Ayan's words weren't too direct.
Horace naturally understood the implied message, replying, "Tonight's topic includes this matter. Should I come directly to your house?"
"Yes, come over."
Ayan said simply, then hung up his phone.
Watching his expression, Camille also asked, "Did Horace and Grace have a fight? Does he want you to act as a mediator to smooth things out between them?"
Since they had to meet in person to discuss it, Camille thought that this might be the only matter worth meeting about.
Ayan shook his head, still holding Camille's hand with the hand that had just put down his phone. He gazed thoughtfully, wondering about Horace's purpose for the meeting.
What did he want to talk about?
Ayan said, "We'll find out soon. But it's probably related to Grace in some way, considering that she's been living with Horace since leaving the Armstrong family. They've had plenty of time to get to know each other and inevitably see each other's flaws and have conflicts."
Listening to Ayan's words, Camille sighed, "Mr. Simpson makes sense. So, Mr. Simpson, after spending so much time with me, can you tell me what my flaws are?"
Ayan chuckled softly, "Your flaw is that you're too distant from me. So, I suggest you work on that flaw, alright?"
"Am I distant from you?"
Camille found those words a bit amusing, not in a self-deprecating way, but genuinely funny, with a sense of amusement from the depths of her heart.
She asked, a bit uncertain, "Do you really think I'm distant from you?"
"Isn't it?"
"I find it quite nice!"
He furrowed his brow and asked, "What's nice about it?"
She replied, "I find everything about it good."
Ayan gave a soft hum, "Can't even give an example?"
Camille looked at him, not anxious in the least, and calmly said, "Then, let's compare and see who's colder toward whom."
Camille asked curiously, "Why didn't Grace come with you?"
Horace's expression darkened. After the aunt served the tea and left, he sat in a single armchair and leaned back. His voice was hoarse as he said, "I'm under surveillance. I couldn't dare to approach her, as I might get caught if I'm not careful."
"The Armstrong family's people?" Camille inquired.
"I'm not sure whose people they are, but it's likely connected to the Armstrong family. They can watch me so openly; it probably serves their interests. That's why I came to ask Mr. Simpson for help." Horace's gaze turned toward Ayan, and he continued, "Mr. Simpson, do you still have a personal property at Maple Leaves Mansion?"
Ayan looked at Horace and understood his intentions before he finished speaking.
Ayan calmly responded, "Do you want me to lend my property to Grace for a temporary stay?"
"Yes, just for a while, and I'll cover the rent."
Ayan chuckled, "Do you think I'm short on rent money?"
Camille lightly tapped him, signaling that he should be more considerate. Horace appeared quite worried and anxious, so making jokes might not be suitable right now.
Ayan continued, "If you want to move in, the property is vacant. However, you're being closely watched. Are you sure you can move out without any issues?"
"That's why I need your help."
"Mr. Burris, I'm a businessman."
Ayan's implications were clear.
Horace understood them too, so he took out a piece of paper from his suit pocket and pushed it in front of Ayan. He said, "This is a share in my investment company. I'm offering three percent as compensation. Although it might not seem significant to Mr. Simpson, I believe this investment company will pique Mr. Simpson's interest."
Ayan didn't reach out to take the paper, but he could clearly see its contents and the name of the investment company from where he was sitting.
A hint of surprise flickered in Ayan's eyes, and he showed a somewhat unexpected expression as he said, "Is this investment company yours?"
"Mr. Simpson, haven't you looked into my background? Did you miss that?" Horace chuckled lightly, appearing relaxed and unworried.
