Chapter 1111: Losing Face

The servant nodded, "Yes, but I just had an argument with Mrs. Simpson, so..."

"Okay." Ayan responded indifferently, not concerned about the details.

The servant quickly led Ayan inside. As they entered the living room, they found the floor in complete disarray.

Ayan furrowed his brows as he scanned the scene. The next moment, Brody's voice, accompanied by footsteps, reached them. Camille thought it was Page returning after leaving home, and Brody, with an indifferent tone, said, "Why are you back? Weren't you leaving? If you're going, make it clean and thorough!!!"

After his words, there was no response from Page, only the servant's voice, "Sir, Mr. Simpson is here."

Brody turned around immediately upon hearing this, and seeing the chaos on the floor, a faint shadow of displeasure passed over his face. Then, with a stiff expression, he looked at the servant, revealing clear dissatisfaction in his eyes. In a cold tone, he instructed, "Clean up this mess immediately."

The servant nodded and quickly started tidying up the things on the floor.

Brody's gaze shifted to Ayan, and he asked, "Why is Ayan here at this time?"

Ayan, with a faint gaze, glanced at Brody and calmly asked, "Passing by. Just happened to think there's something I need to ask you."

Despite the current collaboration between Preston and him, Brody still harbored some fear of Ayan because Ayan held some leverage over him. Brody looked at Ayan, wondering what business he had.

Although Ayan claimed to be passing by, Brody wasn't entirely convinced. Ayan wouldn't casually pass by his place without a reason. Brody presumed there must be something on Ayan's mind.

Brody cast a probing look at Ayan but couldn't discern anything. His expression turned slightly subdued. Looking at Ayan, he asked, "Ayan, just tell me if there's anything. There's no one else here; it's just the two of us."

Though Ayan insisted he was merely passing by, Brody found it hard to believe. He suspected that Ayan had some business.

With a faint glance at Brody, Ayan replied, "Let's talk outside."

Even though there were no outsiders, the place had surveillance, and Ayan didn't want the conversation to be recorded and leaked. Especially concerning what he intended to investigate today, he believed the fewer people who knew, the better.

Following Ayan's request, Brody accompanied him from the villa to the garden outside.

The Armstrong's villa wasn't as grand as the Simpson's mansion or as luxurious as the Franklin Bay villa. The garden was smaller, but it was sufficiently distant from the villa, providing enough privacy for their conversation.

Brody looked at Ayan and asked, "Ayan, why all this secrecy?"

Brody's expression tightened slightly, not wanting to continue this matter with Ayan. He quickly changed the subject, saying, "Ayan, these are things of the past. Previously, it was because Camille wasn't with us, so there might have been some unintentional bias."

"Just a little?" Ayan snorted. He said, "Honestly, I'm starting to doubt whether she's truly your biological daughter, just like Camille does. How about we all take a paternity test together? Let's see if she's biologically related to you. If not, at least give Camille a reasonable explanation, so she doesn't have to continue living in self-doubt. What do you think?"

Ayan was merely probing Brody, wanting to see his reaction.

Unexpectedly, Brody's reaction was strong. He said, "How can we do that? If word gets out, how can we face the Armstrong family? Camille is part of our family, and just because we, as parents, had some negligence, doesn't mean we should entertain such thoughts. If she has any questions, she can come and ask me at any time. We, as parents, are open to being questioned about anything we might have done wrong. But resorting to such actions is not allowed, even when her grandfather was still around. It would bring shame to the Armstrong family."

Brody felt that such a thing could never happen in the Armstrong family. If it did, what would others think of the Armstrong family? This was absolutely impossible, especially considering that he always prioritized the interests of the Armstrong family in everything, especially in situations that could lead to rumors and gossip.

Brody's words left Ayan silent for a moment. Instead of speaking immediately, he looked at Brody calmly. Camille felt uncertain about Brody's reaction. Brody, in an attempt to gauge Ayan's response, said, "Ayan, you should discuss this with Camille. There's no benefit for either of you in pursuing this matter. You both have children. It wouldn't be right for your children to be caught up in such rumors, would it?"

Brody's words were somewhat disjointed, as he was desperate to make Ayan immediately dismiss the idea. Consequently, he found himself unclear about what he was saying.

Ayan didn't react much to Brody's actions. Only when Brody seemed flustered did Ayan calmly ask, "So, you disagree with my suggestion, right?"
