Chapter 1437: Repeat

"Worried about what? I'm here!" he sketched a faint smile, his eyes softly gazing at Camille.

Their eyes met, but the worry in Camille's eyes still lingered.

In nearly a year, too many things had happened around them, each event exhausting enough to make one weary, a turmoil she didn't want to repeat again and again.

Perhaps sensing her anxiety, Ayan spoke again, "There's really no need to worry. If someone wants to find trouble with me, they will show up sooner or later."

Camille pursed her lips, then nodded lightly in agreement.

Kian, standing by as the efficient assistant, spoke up only after they finished their conversation.

He said, "Mr. Simpson, madam, there's something else I need to inform you about."

"What is it?" Ayan asked indifferently.

Kian replied, "The police station just called to inform me that they will release a detailed report on the Armstrong family's incident at precisely one o'clock this afternoon. I have already arranged for the PR department to prepare for any relevant topics related to Simpson Group, the Simpson family, or madam to be taken down immediately."

"Alright, stay vigilant. Keep an eye on the developments. As for other matters, the police will handle it," Ayan said calmly.

Kian nodded and left the office to attend to his tasks.

Once Kian was out of the office, Camille spoke up, "Should Grace and I release a statement or accept interviews regarding the Armstrong family's incident when the police announce it?"

Camille looked at Ayan seriously, seeking his opinion.

Ayan thought for a moment, then said calmly, "I will handle this matter. Don't worry, I will also contact Horace and Grace to prepare. As for interviews, don't overthink it. If there's a need, I'll inform you in advance. We'll also reach out to our friendly media contacts and avoid involving any unwanted media in this matter."

Maintaining control of the situation required keeping the initiative in their hands. Once surrendered, losing control was inevitable.

Camille nodded and said, "Alright, I'll trust you."

Ayan chuckled, "So obedient now?"

Camille gave him a playful look, "As if I wasn't obedient before."

"Weren't you skeptical of me this morning?"

"That's because you weren't serious back then. But now, it's a serious matter, so of course, I should trust you."

Camille frowned slightly, her expression freezing. Was this man really trying to pick a fight with her?

She decided not to speak further, just looking at him impassively. She couldn't express the frustration she felt.

After all, she had to stand by her words even if it made her angry. Refusing to back down was a matter of pride.

Seeing her expression, Ayan couldn't help but find it amusing. He reached out and squeezed her cheek lightly, then gently took her hand and stood up, saying, "Let's go!"

Camille pursed her lips, her face showing displeasure. She just looked at the man in front of her impassively, not wanting to continue the conversation.

"What's wrong?" Ayan asked, amused.

"Nothing," she said with a forced smile, but deep down, she was truly upset.

Camille's demeanor seemed increasingly amusing to Ayan. He couldn't resist reaching out to pinch her cheek, then took her hand and led her out of the office.

Only inside the elevator did Camille speak up, "You're the one who invited me out, you can't back out now!"

Ayan didn't say anything, just smiled. Camille had her ways, she simply gestured with a nod, making it clear that they were going out for a meal.
