Camille was not interested in continuing the conversation with Ayan. She knew that if she did, she would end up getting entangled in his words and ultimately be at a disadvantage.
Ayan said, "We'll be home in about ten minutes."
There were still many people on the road at this time, but Ayan wanted to get home to see Camille, so he increased the speed of the car.
Camille said, "I've already instructed the auntie to prepare the ingredients. When you get home, just go straight to the kitchen."
"So you're not giving me any time to rest?" Ayan asked.
"That's right," Camille responded.
"Alright, I'll do as you say. How about making me fruit tea, hmm?" he asked in a low, husky voice.
Camille replied, "Let me think about it."
Despite saying she needed to think about it, Camille had already started to take action after hanging up the phone.
When Ayan arrived home, he found Camille preparing the fruit. As soon as he entered, he went straight to the kitchen and naturally saw her.
They locked eyes for a moment, and there was a subtle smile in their eyes, as if telling each other not to ask what they were doing.
Ayan walked up to Camille and wrapped his arms around her from behind. He gently embraced her and asked softly, "What are you doing?"
Although Camille had implied that he shouldn't ask, he still intentionally asked. Ignoring him, she simply told him to leave.
But Ayan kept holding her, and the circle naturally restricted her movement, and her voice was a little mild: "You go away!"
"You did not answer me."
"Do you want a drink?" she asked indifferently. "If you don't want one, I won't make it now. But if you do, then please be quiet, okay?"
Seeing her displeased expression, Ayan smiled and then gently kissed her cheek before saying softly, "I'll go make the vermicelli for you."
Camille remained silent and relieved only after Ayan let go of her and left.
Even after all this time together, such close contact with Ayan still made her heart race and her cheeks blush. Looking at him still made her feel the same excitement as when they first met.
She had liked him for a long time, but time did not diminish her feelings for him.
After preparing the fruit, Camille left it on the table and waited for Ayan to finish cooking the vermicelli. She liked spicy food, so she had asked the auntie to prepare a spicy side dish.
As she waited at the table, time passed quickly, and it was soon 10:30.
Camille's eyebrows lifted slightly in surprise. "What did grandfather say?"
"He asked how the Armstrong Corp's shares should be handled with the recent issues, and whether it posed any risk to your interests," Ayan replied smoothly, without a hint of disturbance. Instead, he appeared utterly calm.
Camille was oblivious to any subtleties and couldn't help but admire, "Grandfather always takes these matters to heart. So, what was your response?"
"I said it had no impact because there truly was none. As for the Armstrong Corp's shares, you don't need them. You have the Simpson family, and everything of the Simpson family is yours." Ayan put down his chopsticks, his eyes firmly on Camille, avoiding the real conversation he had with old Simpson, but the words he spoke to Camille were heartfelt.
Camille paused for a moment, then quickly smiled. "Thank you for being so good to me!"
"There's no need to thank me for that," Ayan replied, casually passing a juice cup to Camille before picking up his own. They clinked their cups together. "The Armstrong family's verdict should be out soon, probably in the next few days, so we can start preparing for our trip once it's over."
"Mm," Camille nodded lightly, then took a sip of her juice and added, "If things go as they are now with the Armstrong family, it should be the least damaging outcome, right?"
"Yes, I suppose," he admitted. Apart from rumors targeting Camille, there weren't many other issues.
Camille breathed a sigh of relief. "That's good, at least it doesn't involve too many people."
"I don't care about involving others; what concerns me is that this incident has dragged you into it."
"But isn't that what you are here for?" Camille said with a tight-lipped smile, her face showing utter unconcern. She then asked, "Have you found out who took those photos and posted them online?"
