Ayan was drinking coffee, holding the cup against the leather office chair, and looking at his phone with a faint smile on his lips. "Even if I'm busy, I still want to go fishing for a while."
"I want to complain about you, to let your employees see what their CEO is doing."
"Complaining about me would implicate you as well, wouldn't it?"
"I don't mind. My employees are used to me being more relaxed." After all, Camille didn't even have to come to the company for days at a time, and the company's people were already used to it.
But Ayan was different. He didn't rest for a few days a month, unless there was something important, he stayed punctual most of the time.
The two joked for a while.
Then Ayan asked, "What do you want to eat tonight? I'll make it for you."
"I want to eat the full feast."
"Really?"
"Yeah, really."
Ayan didn't hesitate at all. He said, "I don't know how to make the full feast. I'll have the chef outside come to our place. Which restaurant do you want? I'll have Kian contact them now, it's still early enough, right?"
He looked at the time; it was still relatively early, and it was almost time to prepare the ingredients.
Ayan had no intention of joking. Instead, he surprised Camille.
"I was teasing you," Camille said. She didn't really want to eat the full feast; in fact, she didn't have a specific preference, but she had been eating well recently, so something light felt good.
The two discussed the dinner, and in the end, they decided to have coconut chicken soup and some steamed vegetables, which felt great.
After chatting for a while, half an hour had passed. Ayan had just put down his phone and was about to pick up some documents from the desk when the office door was pushed open from the outside.
Kian walked in with a solemn look. His voice was low as he said, "Mr. Simpson, Sean just called me. He said Elijah is missing."
Ayan's hand holding the documents paused slightly, and a hint of indifference appeared on his face. He lifted his eyelids and looked at Kian. "Elijah is missing?"
"Yeah, missing."
"Our people? Have they been bribed?"
Kian quickly denied. "They haven't been bribed, it's just some unexpected events happened. Elijah has been very cooperative lately, not contacting Preston anymore. We initially thought it was an accident in their partnership, but now it seems like it was Preston's idea, deliberately misleading us!"
From the hotel surveillance, Elijah had drugged a cleaning staff member and dressed as her. He put on a mask and hat, and because of his petite frame, it was easy for him to pass as a woman.
In Camille's eyes, this was not a trivial matter, so she was naturally very worried.
Camille asked Ayan about the situation over the phone, and Ayan only said, "Don't worry, we'll talk about it when I get home tonight, okay?"
It was still several hours before leaving work and coming home, but Ayan's calm demeanor made Camille unable to help asking, "Aren't you in a hurry? Or do you have a plan?"
Ayan didn't answer, just smiled faintly. "Would I be in such a hurry?"
"I don't want to joke with you. Are you serious? Does this matter have an impact on you?"
"It definitely has an impact, but this is what I want."
"What do you want?"
"Yeah." Ayan didn't want to continue the conversation. He said, "Come home early tonight. I'll cook for you. If you want to ask something, we'll talk about it in person, okay?"
Camille was stunned, but she quickly agreed.
However, Camille's worries did not diminish at all, and she had many questions in her mind because she learned from Yessica that Kian felt guilty and remorseful about Elijah's disappearance. However, from what Ayan just said, it seemed like Ayan had foreseen it.
Was Ayan keeping it from Kian?
