Chapter 418 Get Them Together
Her cold attitude frustrated Byron, so he said coolly, ” Lucian and Nox are still waiting for you at home, so I hope you’ll watch yourself, Miss Jacobs.”
Rosalie did not want to dwell on this topic either, so she nodded calmly. “Thank you for the reminder, President Lawrence.”
The two of them exchanged a look, both of their hearts roiling with emotion.
Byron pulled his gaze back with a frown and turned to leave the hotel.
He only came here today for her.
However, her attitude was making him reluctant to stay here for even a second longer.
As he walked away, Rosalie frowned slightly, her suspicions rising again.
He came to this banquet for work, didn’t he? So why was he leaving already?
She could almost believe that he was leaving because of her.
After what he said earlier, though, Rosalie did not want to get carried away again, she looked away from him and turned back into the hall.
Mason and his friends were nowhere to be seen now.
As soon as Rosalie went in, she met President Zimmer’s gaze.
“Where did you go? I’ve been looking everywhere for you,” he said, approaching her in concern.
Rosalie gave him a faint smile. “I got bored sitting still, so I went out for a walk. Is something the matter?”
President Zimmer heaved a sigh of relief. “Good, I’m glad you’re fine. You’re my guest, so if anything were to happen to you here, I don’t know how I’ll face President Quirke and Senior Lewis.”
Rosalie was feeling tired after that encounter. Since he did not need anything from her, she said, “I’m fine, just a little tired. About the deal…”
Rosalie missed her best chance to decline, so she had no choice but to silently accept the offer, she bid Senior Lewis goodbye and left the hotel room with Leon.
By the time they emerged from the hotel, it was already late at night.
Rosalie was only wearing an off-shoulder dress, so she shuddered in the cold night breeze when she walked out of the hotel doors.
The very next second, she felt a coat being draped over her shoulders, warm with a lingering body heat.
Leon said gently by her side, “Put it on. My car is a distance away from here, and you’re not dressed for the weather. I don’t want you to catch a cold.”
Rosalie hesitated for a second before thanking him with a smile. “Thanks, Leon.”
They had always gotten along well. If she rejected him because of what Byron said earlier, that would only suggest there actually was something going on between them.
With that thought in mind, Rosalie pulled the coat closer to her body and walked to Leon’s car with him.
