Skylar took the opportunity to let Natalie know that she had arrived safely. 

The airport was quite a distance from the hotel. The driver navigated smoothly, and soon Skylar drifted off to sleep. In her semi–conscious state, she felt Joe cover her with his jacket. He even held her close so that she could sleep even more comfortably. 

She originally didn’t want to disturb him while he was working. However, she was so tired, and being held by him felt quite comfortable, so she didn’t move and just slept in his arms. 

Joe’s deep, monotonous voice continued to reach her ears. The dull and tedious work content was likely a lullaby, making her sleep even more deeply. 

After what felt like a long time, the car came to a stop. She vaguely heard Paul’s voice. “Should we wake Mrs. Martin? We’re near the 

hotel.” 

Joe replied, “Not yet.” 

Skylar opened her eyes. “Are we almost at the hotel?“. 

“Yes, we’re nearly there,” Joe said, his voice gentle. 

Skylar sat up and looked out at the street. The different architectural styles of the foreign land caught her eye, and she suddenly felt a surge of excitement for this trip. 

A nap had rejuvenated her, and she felt much more energetic. 

“Would you like to go for a stroll?” Joe asked, noticing Skylar’s bright eyes and evident excitement as she gazed out the window. 

Skylar nodded eagerly. “Will you be busy after we get to the hotel?”

“Not really. After we grab a bite, we can head out,” Joe replied. 

Paul glanced back quickly when Joe mentioned he wasn’t busy. He thought, “Not busy? That’s far from the truth.” 

Joe was as busy as ever. From what Howard had said, it seemed Joe had a special soft spot for Skylar–something Joe himself might not even realize. 

Earlier, Skylar had been sleeping during the drive. Joe held her close and still, speaking in a very soft voice to avoid waking her. 

Joe cast a cold glance at Paul. 

Paul immediately looked away. He certainly didn’t dare to say in front of Skylar that Joe was very busy. 

In just a few minutes, they arrived at the hotel. After checking in, Paul ordered some food in the room. They had their meal in the suite. 

After finishing, Skylar changed into a different outfit. Then, Joe took her for a walk.
