Charlotte whispered, “I've already called the police, but I don't know how long it's going to take them to get here.”

Genevieve pursed her lips. “We'll be dead by the time they get here.”

Not only was Armand still in Springwyn, but even if he was back, he would need to drive for more than an hour to get to them. The men outside their car would not give them that much time.

However, Genevieve still thought Armand was more reliable than the police.

As the man outside the car was rushing for her to go out, Genevieve thought she would do as she was told to buy some time. If these men run out of patience, Charlotte and I will be in big trouble.

The moment Genevieve unlocked the car, the man outside her car suddenly stood up and walked to the back of her car. Seeing that, she immediately looked into the rearview mirror.

Only then did she see Sean coming out of his car and talking to the man. She could vaguely hear Sean telling the man that she was Sean's friend.

Sean was talking nicely to the man, and he even offered the man money. However, the man told him to scram, and he said he was determined to land Genevieve and Charlotte.

Sean threw a punch at the man, and a fight quickly broke out.

Genevieve was smart enough to know that Sean was actually buying her time.

She whipped out a mini electric baton from her bag and gave it to Charlotte. “I'll unlock the door. If the men come at you after you get out of the car, use this on them and run toward Sean's car.”

Charlotte memorized the functions of the electric baton and uttered emotionally, “You're so nice, Genev. You gave me an electric baton at such a—”

Before she could finish her sentence, she saw Genevieve taking out another electric baton from the glove compartment.

Sean and his friend were getting beaten up by the group of men. Right then, one of the men saw Genevieve and Charlotte getting out of the car, and he dashed toward Genevieve.

The tall figure took a leap and landed on the ground steadily.

It was such an indescribable scene for Genevieve, and she couldn't stop herself from running toward Armand and hugging him tightly

After regaining his footing, Armand held an umbrella over her head and asked, “Are you hurt?”

Genevieve shook her head and looked up at him. Still hugging his waist, she said, “I thought you would rush over in your car. I was worried that you would get into an accident because of the rain. I can't believe you came here in a helicopter! That's so cool!”

Noticing how composed she was and that she didn't seem frightened, Armand lowered his head and kissed her on her lips. In response, Genevieve wrapped her arms around his neck and bit his lips.

Under the rain, Charlotte snapped, “Hey! There's a time and place for public displays of affection, and now is not the time nor the place!”

Charlotte thought Genevieve was a reserved woman, but that didn't seem to be the case.
