Chapter 1061 Shocking Discovery

Since he often received urgent calls like these, Genevieve didn't think much about it.

While packing her stuff up after work, Genevieve felt a slight discomfort in her throat. As she didn't have any plans for the rest of the evening, she decided to drop by the hospital to have her throat examined.

The doctor found nothing serious about her condition. He simply prescribed her some oral medication.

The outpatient department was closed after six in the evening, so Genevieve had to collect her medication from the pharmacy at the emergency department instead. Right when she was about to leave, she caught a glimpse of Armand walking past the corridor on her left.

Genevieve then saw him enter a pediatric emergency department and followed him out of curiosity.

Standing at the door that was left ajar, Genevieve saw that the place was huge and divided into two main areas.

One of the areas was for outpatient consultation, and the other was for injections. Armand handed the doctor a tiny bottle of medicine and carried a little girl onto his lap.

The girl had her hair tied into two pigtails with red ribbons.

Genevieve, standing at the door, could only get a side view of the girl's face. Even so, it was enough for her to know the girl was very pretty.

Judging by the bandage wrapped around her head, Genevieve figured she was injured.

Upon noticing the nurse prepare the syringe, Amanda buried her face in Armand's chest and pleaded, “Daddy, can I not get an injection?”

“But you'll get sick if you don't get the injection. You know how much it hurts me to see you sick. I'll make you some doughnuts at home once this injection is over, okay?” Armand coaxed her gently.

“Okay...” Amanda decided to put up with the injection for the sake of the doughnuts.

Armand then rolled the sleeve of Amanda's school uniform up so the nurse could administer the injection. He even covered her eyes and chatted with her to keep her distracted throughout the process.

Upon answering the phone, she heard Armand saying in a deep voice, “Darling, I won't be coming home tonight, so you can take a shower and go straight to bed. Don't stay up late watching TV, okay?”

“Okay.” Genevieve's gaze fell upon the plate of fruits on the table.

She had wanted to ask Armand about the kids, but the words were stuck in her throat somehow. Oblivious to her unusually cold tone, Armand hung up after saying good night.

Angered by his act of hanging up on her, Genevieve yelled, “What a sc*mbag!”

She had thought that the girl was the daughter of a friend, but seeing the boy who looked similar to him proved that theory wrong.

Genevieve's bad mood then carried over to the next morning.

Armand would usually wake up really early to make her whatever she wanted for breakfast, but that didn't happen as he never came home last night.
