When it was almost six o'clock in the evening, Bertilla knocked on the CEO's office door and placed a few pending documents on the table.

He also said, “Ms. Loake is waiting for you in the underground parking.”

Recently, Sally would pick Cooper up at night. Instead of calling Cooper, she always dialed Bertilla's number, telling the latter that she was waiting for Cooper at Specter Corporation's underground parking before hanging up the call.

“You had a wound on your forehead and were given an injection. That's why there was a lot of food you couldn't eat. Your daddy was doing it for your own good,” explained Cooper, caressing her face.

Before this, Cooper had checked with Armand regarding her diet restrictions. Otherwise, the former would not have given Amanda anything she wanted.

When it was almost nine at night, Cooper and Sally finally left Swallow Garden.

The minute they arrived at Cooper's condominium, Sally received a call. Hence, she let Cooper take a bath first while she entered the study to take the call.

Cooper watched her slender figure disappear from sight, though he could not help but feel that her words sounded odd.

Nonetheless, he went off to take a shower. Sally was already in the bedroom by the time Cooper stepped out of the bathroom while drying his hair; she was staring at her phone by the full-length windows.
