Seeing Denise arrive, Timothy was surprised. “I thought Jojo invited me to dinner alone. Did she also invite you?”

Denise looked at him, seemingly stumped.

“Since she invited you, take a seat,” Timothy advised her. “After a few bites, make an excuse and leave early.”

She acutely sensed the man's aura growing colder and didn't dare to make any more sarcastic remarks.

Initially, Timothy only mentioned that he was not getting along well with Johanna and asked for her help to keep an eye on Johanna. She had an interest in fashion design and agreed to help.

Timothy stared silently at the ground for a while. He then stood up from his chair. “If you haven't eaten yet, eat here before you go. I'll leave first.” He sounded tired.

Asel might have played quite hard today, for she fell asleep on the pillow while Johanna was only halfway through the bedtime story.

She had just ended the video call when Timothy's call came through.

After Johanna answered his call, he didn't speak. On the other end, Timothy also remained silent. The two of them stayed quiet for a long time.

After he finished speaking, he ended the call abruptly. Johanna stared at her phone, her lips pressed tightly together.
