Genevieve could understand Jessica's anxious feelings. However, all they knew for sure was that Charlotte was alive; they still hadn't found out where she was.

She couldn't reveal the truth to Jessica. She wouldn't be able to handle it.

Seeing Genevieve hesitating to speak, Jessica, who had developed a sharp mind from her work, said, “Even if Lottie eloped with someone, I'd still hope you could tell me, so I don't have to imagine things.”

If Sebastian is trying to save himself, he'd likely break under pressure and change his story. But he's still adamant that Charlotte is deceased. There might be something he doesn't know, perhaps an event that occurred after the ship left.”

Johanna leaned her chin on her hand, lost in thought, then turned to Genevieve and inquired, “If we manage to locate Charlotte, what do you think will happen between her and Jerry?”

“We're all aware of how her father passed away, but who would dare to break that news to her?” Genevieve sighed. “And Jerry knows Charlotte's temperament well, so he wouldn't dare reveal such news to her.”
