Genevieve had just put a cherry tomato into her mouth then. She was torn between swallowing it and otherwise even as mortification inundated her. “I'm sorry.”

Genevieve helped to scoop the pasta and carry the plates and cutlery to the dining room. After taking her seat, she took a piece of stir-fried beef with her fork and placed it into her mouth.

The beef was sourish and spicy, delightfully delicious. That aside, it carried a familiar taste.

When Bruce noticed that she was silent with her fork in midair, he queried, “Why, does it taste horrible?”

“Oh, not at all.” Snapping back to her senses, Genevieve couldn't help asking, “Where did you learn to cook?”

Shrugging, Bruce replied blithely, “There are tons of cooking tutorials on the internet, so I only had to surf the internet for a bit. Furthermore, they're all home-cooked dishes, so they're a piece of cake.”

“True. It's just simple, home-cooked dishes.” Genevieve massaged her temples, sensing something amiss with herself.

When I ate the cake, I found the taste familiar. And now, I find his cooking familiar when all home-cooked dishes taste almost the same. It's just that I keep recalling someone and past events I should banish from my mind.

Nonetheless, she swiftly composed herself. Lifting her head, she flashed the man a faint smile. “The food you prepared is delightful. It's really rare that a celebrity can cook, and so deliciously at that.”

“I'm too picky and don't quite care for outside food, so I've got no choice but to cook for myself. This is actually the first time I'm cooking for someone else,” Bruce remarked casually.

Honestly, Genevieve knew that the entertainment industry was a place that emphasized family background.

“Why did you ask me that out of the blue, Ms. Rachford?” Bruce regarded her inquiringly. A moment later, he ventured, “Are you having the same thoughts as Ms. Joule?”

Genevieve was taken aback before she waved a dismissive hand. “I was simply asking. As you said, she's currently a big shot, so it isn't easy to seduce her.”

All at once, words eluded Bruce.

“Oh yes, the movie I accepted on your behalf is indeed a romance film.” Genevieve was worried that the atmosphere would turn awkward, so she changed the subject. “But there are few sex scenes. They're all ambiguous scenes...”

Seeing that she seemingly left something unsaid, Bruce arched an eyebrow and inquired, “Is a body double permitted?”

“I didn't ask.” Genevieve picked up the orange juice and took a sip. After that, she remarked calmly, “Don't you loathe women? This movie is pretty good, for the main leads are men.”
