The bad feeling in Genevieve's gut intensified when she heard Charlotte's answer. “Jane still isn't back yet. Please ask the attendants to help me search for her.”

After hanging up the call, Genevieve dashed to the control room.

No surveillance cameras were installed in the rooms' hallway, nightclubs, and pubs to protect the guests' privacy. Yet, there was no sign of Jane in the other surveillance cameras.

The attendants started their search on the first and third floors while Genevieve was anxiously searching the hallway on the second floor.

Just when she was about to take the stairs, she caught a faint sound coming from the utility room beneath the stairway. Without a second thought, she dashed to the room.

The door wasn't locked, so with a twist of the knob, she got the door open.

Genevieve saw a drunk young man pinning Jane down on the floor.

The man was tearing her clothes from her and kept mumbling something along the lines of being able to pay her for her service.

Jane had always been weak and sickly, so her feeble struggles were useless against the drunken man.

Genevieve was enraged. She jerked the fire extinguisher from the wall and slammed it on the man's head twice.

Subsequently, she lifted her leg and kicked the man off of Jane.

The drunken man had already lost consciousness from the blow.

“Are you okay, Jane?” Genevieve took off her coat and wrapped Jane in it. The latter was clutching her chest as she panted.

Genevieve suspected it was a heart attack but saw no sign of her medication in her purse.

Thus, she quickly called the doctor on board and notified him of their location.

Jane rarely left her house in Xedells. Other than those at home, not many know about her heart condition. Furthermore, we're in Jadeborough. Also, Jane has always been careful to keep her medication in her purse at all times, so she can take them when needed. She won't clumsily lose it. There's only one possibility left. Someone had stolen the medication from her purse. Luckily, I borrowed a doctor from Jermaine before arriving at the port because I was worried about Jane. Otherwise, I'd never forgive myself if anything happened to Jane.

Charlotte was waiting at their door. “Is she okay?”

“She's fine now.” Genevieve's tone reflected her anger.

Seeing Genevieve's stony expression, Charlotte knew Genevieve was furious. After all, it was her party, and someone almost lost her life. Therefore, she apologized, “It's my fault. I should've sent an attendant to accompany Jane back. All the guests were enjoying themselves in the nightclub. I never thought someone would stumble into the hallway in a drunken state.”

“I don't think he stumbled out himself. Someone must've lured him out.” Genevieve recalled the drunken man's slurred words when she opened the utility room's door earlier.
