At that moment, Cooper came up to see Genevieve.

After knocking on the break room's door, he opened it to see Bruce holding Genevieve's snow-white feet. At the sight of their intimate position, a gloomy expression descended on his face.

“Bruce Gable!” Cooper stormed in and ruthlessly threw his drink at Bruce, his eyes filled with murderous intent. “Do you have a death wish?”

By the time Genevieve realized what was going on, she put on her shoes and handed Bruce a tissue to wipe his face. “Coop, Bruce was just bringing me my flats as I broke the heel on my shoes.”

“It's obvious to me that his intentions extend beyond that!” Cooper sneered while being filled with the urge to smash his cup on Bruce's head.

Thinking back to the kiss Bruce had planted on her legs, Genevieve was beset by a sudden sense of guilt.

Cooper's razor-sharp gaze looked as if it could pierce a few holes through Bruce. “As an actor, how dare you covet your own boss? Don't say I didn't warn you. If you dare lay a finger on Genev, I will break your legs myself!”

When she saw how Cooper's disparagement of Bruce was escalating, Genevieve grabbed him and ushered him out quickly. “He's just here to bring me my shoes, so don't let your imagination run wild. I still have my presence of mind with me. There's no way I would be interested in him. Come on, let's go.”

When she turned around and snuck a glance, she noticed that Bruce, too, was looking at her with a darkened gaze.

With her heart skipping a beat, she instantly turned her head away.

When they arrived at the garden, Cooper was still fuming. “Genev, you should sell Bruce to another company.”

“Ever since he made his comeback, he has managed to garner a legion of fans. Furthermore, we have no one else who is as good or has won as many awards as him.” Genevieve was reluctant to let him go. Warrick's movie will not only elevate his popularity further but also rake in the profits for our company.”

Cooper gave her the side-eye. “Since when are you desperate for money?”

“I'm not short, but who would ever turn down making more?” Genevieve threw the question back at him before adding, “Furthermore, Bruce is Jojo's idol, and it was her who signed him onto the company.”

The grim look on Cooper's face intensified when he realized it was impossible to get rid of Bruce. “In that case, you should stay far away from him. Do you understand?”

“Mmm-hmm.” Genevieve nodded.

Unexpectedly, Bruce stepped back to maintain a meter's distance from her. “I'm sorry, but I have the flu. I'm worried that you might catch it.”

“It's all right,” Charlotte replied with a vibrant smile as she put down her hand.

Noticing the look of admiration Charlotte was giving Bruce, Genevieve could clearly tell that the former was interested in him and was keen on chatting him up. Hence, she made an excuse to leave so as to give them both some privacy.

After picking up a glass of champagne from the table, Genevieve couldn't help but look toward the corner of the garden.

There, Charlotte looked as if she was having a blast in her conversation with Bruce. She even flashed her phone at him so that they could exchange contacts.

Watching the scene, Genevieve felt a little disheartened.
