Willow grabbed Lara’s hand that was hitting her and held it tightly.

Lara's actions didn’t hurt Willow at all. She knew that Lara was just worried about her.

“I’m fine, Mom. It’s just some work stuff. Don’t worry about it,” Willow assured Lara.

She knew that Lara was worried about her but she couldn’t talk about what she was going through in front of the kids.

The kids understood everything although they were young.

She didn’t want to stress them out at such a young age.

Lara wiped away her tears and said, “Okay. Look how thin you are, eat up!”

She understood Willow’s hesitation and she didn’t want the kids to be aware of this ugly world at such a young age.

There were some burgers left on the table and Lara pushed them to Willow.

Willow gave her a comforting smile to prove that she was fine.

She took a bite as she didn’t want to let Lara down.

The patty was too oily and the seasoning was too strong.

Willow’s stomach churned and she quickly spat out the burger.

Rachel dared not intervene when she noticed the tense atmosphere between Lara and Willow.

“It’s good to be back. The kids won’t be crying for you anymore now. Have some drinks if you’re too full. Hailey won the rematch for the Food Appreciation Contest, and the finals will be held in a few days. We are celebrating her win today, let’s have fun!” Rachel tried to liven up the mood.

Willow smiled at her while Lara kept eating, only the kids were talking throughout the meal.

They finished everything on the table soon and it was time for them to go home.

“My car can't fit all of us,” Rachel said.

Her car was already overloaded with four kids and an adult, it would be dangerous if Willow went with them. They would be caught by the traffic police.
