Willow was moved to her ward and Xavier followed along.

Something red had seeped through the gauze on her forehead.

It was not sure if it was iodine or blood.

Xavier’s heart was filled with guilt when he looked at Willow on the bed.

She looked very pale.

“When will she wake up?” Xavier asked the nurse.

“In a while,” the nurse replied.

Xavier stood in front of the bed and observed Willow.

She looked more frail and haggard than usual.

It hurt Xavier to see her in this state.

Xavier reached out, wanting to touch her face. All sorts of emotions surged up inside him.

He wanted to hold her tightly in his arms and never let her go for the rest of his life.

He had loved her so deeply.

When he was about to caress Willow’s face, her eyes opened.

Xavier was startled and he froze.

“Xavier,” Willow called out weakly.

“I’m here.” He retracted his hand hastily and acted like nothing had happened. “How are you? Do you feel any discomfort?”

“So what?” Xavier was gloomy.

“It doesn’t look good to have a scar on your face. You’re handsome, aren’t you afraid of it affecting your appearance?” Willow said sincerely.

Hope glimmered in Xavier’s heart, and he asked, “Do you care about my appearance?”

He was anticipating her answer.

Having been in a relationship with him for two years, Willow knew him well. He still loved her.

She lowered her to avoid his gaze. “Your family will be worried about you.”

“What about you? Do you care about me?” Xavier insisted on asking her. Only her answer mattered to him.

Willow didn’t know how to answer him, she didn't want to give him any hope and didn’t want him to be obsessed with her anymore.
