Half a month had passed in a flash. During this period of time, Dorothy was living in uneasiness.

Like a real prisoner, she was confined in a 100 square feet bedroom. But her heart was hollow, just like the empty room.

Sometimes, she thought that it was better to end her life rather than to live in humiliation and without freedom.

However, at the thought of her unborn baby, she refused to resign to her fate.

She still had a child.

A child that belonged exclusively to her.

She could not selfishly leave the world with her child, depriving it of the right to be born into this world.

She cheered herself up. There was still half a month left. She would definitely find a chance to leave this place. Once she left Credence, she would start a new life all over.

The very afternoon, Dorothy forced herself to have an extra portion of food despite feeling nauseous. After that, she took a shower and hung around in the room for a while before changing into nightwear, ready to take a nap.

While she was drifting off to sleep, she was awakened by a commotion at the door.

She opened her eyes with a frown and spotted Credence, who had disappeared for half a month, standing by her bed. The afternoon sun shone on his angular face, intensifying his charm.

As his face was bathing in the sunlight, Dorothy could not see his expression clearly. However, for some reason, her heart raced. 

When her heartbeat returned to normal, she pretended to be calm, asking, "There is still half a month before the kidney transplant. Why are you here?"

Suddenly, a clinking sound could be heard.

It was the sound made when the tip of a belt hit the buckle.
