After their talk, Magnus and Laura had finally gone to rest.

Adele was sleeping peacefully in Laura's arms, while Laura lay wide awake, her mind spinning with her grandfather's words.

She thought that maybe, just maybe, he was right. Maybe she had been letting the anger over what happened nearly two years ago cloud her heart—the day she found out she was pregnant.

True, Adrian hadn't reacted well. But he had tried to reach out to her—something she discovered when she finally checked the spam folder from back then and saw the messages he'd sent on social media.

The fact they never talked wasn't really Adrian's fault. It was because she and her brothers had to run from her grandfather and Frank Levett.

Maybe it was time to talk to him—slowly, carefully, the way she had once considered.

She didn't want her daughter to have to go through an awkward, painful situation years down the line when she was older and had to meet her father for the first time.

Worse still, she didn't want to live with the regret of something happening to Adrian, like Magnus had warned.

With a head still full of swirling thoughts, Laura eventually drifted off to sleep.

The next morning, as if some divine light had shown her the way, Laura knew what she had to do. She couldn't keep lying to herself—she needed to fix things. She needed to find the best path for Adele's happiness—and her own.

After breakfast, she got Adele ready and headed to the office where Adrian worked. She knew he would be working, so she didn't want to interrupt too much. Carrying her daughter, she made her way to her grandfather's office.

"Grandpa… May I come in?" Laura asked, carrying Adele.

"Hello, my girl! Come on in… You don't need to ask for permission, not here," Magnus said warmly.

"Thank you, Grandpa. You know something?"

"Tell me."

"I was thinking about what we talked about last night," Laura said nervously.

"Ah, and what conclusion did you come to?" he asked, curious.

"Well… considering you're absolutely right about everything, I don't see the point in being so dumb about it—"

"I never said you were dumb," Magnus interjected, frowning slightly.

"Let me finish, Grandpa," Laura said, even more nervous, fidgeting with her hands.

"Alright, alright, but let's make it clear—I never called you dumb," he said, half-surprised by her admission.

"Okay, okay, I added that part. But the important thing is… you're right. I can't keep blaming Adrian for everything.

We were young—and we were playing at adult things we had no idea how to handle. And when everything blew up, one of us just didn't know how to deal with it."

"Mmm… yeah, that's about what I said. And what's going on in that head of yours now?"

"I think I need to have a long, honest talk with Adrian. If he wants to meet Adele, I'll let him.
