Arabella carried Rylie back to her bedroom. Nestling in her own bed, Rylie soon fell asleep.

Arabella lay in bed, thinking over what Sharon had said, tossing and turning, unable to sleep.

Leaning aside, she reached out her small hand and slowly caressed the pillow Kenneth had slept on, thinking about what he was doing now.

Arabella took out her mobile phone and sent him a Line message. [Arabella: Are you really not coming back tonight?]

With a "ding" sound, Kenneth's reply came quickly, making Arabella wonder if he was holding his mobile phone like her at the moment.

[Kenneth: I'll stay overnight in the company.]

Arabella was not satisfied with his brief answer.

She edited another message. [Arabella: I want to have a talk with you.]

Before this message could be sent, however, Kenneth's message came again. [Kenneth: I have a meeting. Go to bed early. Good night.]

He ended the conversation unilaterally.

Arabella angrily threw her mobile phone on the bedside table and cradled his pillow in her arms. Picturing his handsome face in her head, she clenched her fist and pounded the pillow violently several times.

The next moment, she put the pillow under her head. The clean, refreshing smell of Kenneth still lingered on it. She buried her little face in it and gradually fell asleep.
