Chapter 392

Kenneth was completely sober now, his gaze cold as he looked at the disheveled Stephany in front of him. He had truly been drunk earlier, mistaking her for Arabella.

But when he buried his face in Stephany's long hair, he didn't catch the sweet fragrance that intoxicated his heart. Instead, he smelled an artificial perfume scent, and he instantly sobered up.

She wasn't his Bella!

Just the thought of pulling Stephany into his embrace and holding her made Kenneth feel extremely uncomfortable. He wished he could scrub himself inside and out to wash away the lingering sensation.

"Get out! I don't want to see you again!" Kenneth said before quickly entering the shower.

...

Inside the shower, Kenneth took off his black shirt. It had already been tainted with the unpleasant scent of Stephany's artificial perfume, and there was even a strand of her hair clinging to it.

Kenneth threw the black shirt directly into the trash bin and turned on the showerhead, letting the cold water cascade down from above.

He used shower gel to scrub himself vigorously several times, but no matter how hard he scrubbed, he felt like he couldn't get clean.

Echoing in his ears was Arabella's soft and gentle voice, "Mr. Lucero, I won't tolerate even a hint of another woman's scent on you. If I ever catch a whiff of it, I'll break up with you!"

Kenneth furrowed his handsome brows and rinsed himself off a few more times. His actions were no longer calm and composed; they showed impatience and unease. He was afraid that Arabella might sense something and dump him.

Suddenly, Kenneth froze in his movements.

The girl he loved so much, the apple of his eye, the girl who was willing to sacrifice even her own life to save him - now he had to push her away with his own hands.

He would love to heal himself, but not at the cost of her life.

Staying with him would only make her suffer more and become more exhausted. Without him, her brilliant life would start anew. She would meet someone better than him and lead a happy life.

As for him, he would never encounter a girl like her again. He was well aware of how much worse his health and condition would become without her. She was his only medicine.

But it didn't matter. He would descend into hell alone. He had come from hell in the first place. He had been wrong from the beginning; he never should have greedily sought the sunlight she brought.
