Madeline said a few comforting words and waved him off. “Alright, go focus on your things. Isn’t your paper 

er still unwritten! Your research advisor keeps pushing you every day. Why don’t you seem worried!” 

She half–joked, “Whether he can become the dean or not all depends on you. You carry a huge responsibility, you 

know.” 

Gavin shook his head and said, “I’m going to buy groceries. The paper can wait. Taking care of your appetite is far more important” 

Carin went downstairs. Despite his casual attire, his striking good looks made it impossible for people to overlook him. 

Many students from Acocester University lived in this apartment building. As soon as Cavin stepped out of the elevator, a girl was walking toward him. He was so engrossed in his phone’s recipe app that he didn’t notice her. 

“Wait a munuse, Gavin, the girl said. 

Hearing the girl’s voice, Gavin paused slightly and glanced sideways at her. His expression was cool and distant, making him seem unreachable. He wasn’t as pretentious as he was in front of Madeline. With a hint of impatience, he raised an eyebrow: “What’s up?” 

“Don’t you remember me? Xena bit her lip. She had confessed her feelings to Gavin back at whool, but he had thrown her into the artificial lake. 

To be closer to him, she had even moved into this apartment. 

Her heart was bubbling with anger, yet she forced a smile. “If you don’t remember, forget it. I live on the 8th floor. We’re neighbors.” 

Gavin glanced over her face, thinking it looked somewhat familiar. But in the past, when he was bored, he would rease some girls without really caring, so naturally, he felt they all looked the same. 

“Ol” He was about to continue walking. It was already past four, and he was rushing to the supermarket to buy groceries. If Acocester University had a club of the best partners, he’d surely be the leader. 

“I need to talk to you? Xena taught up with Gavin, walking beside him. Her lovely face hard a friendly smile. “You haven’t been spending the night here recently, have you?” 

“It’s none of your business, Cavin scoffed. “You don’t have a crush on me, do you! Too many people have a crush on me. You’re just too ordinary. Find someone else to like 

Xena’s face turned pale. Last time, he said he was out of her league, and now he said she was too ordinary. Gavin was the first person to continuously insult her and did not remember her. It was so frustrating 

Xena’s eyes began to mist up. She was almost brought to tears. “You don’t have this attitude towards that makes you give her such special treatment.

It’s really annoying Xena sneered and decided not to speak nicely to him anymore. She used to really like Gavin, but he was pushing her toward darkness. 

Even when you’re not around, your place is still really lively. Xena commented, scrolling through her phone and showing some photos. “Look, Madeline gets picked up by all kinds of Fancy cars. She’s certainly busy. Spending time with a different guy every day is enough to keep her occupied

Gavin looked down. His eyes were intense and dark. He slowly lifted his hand to press Xena against the wall as if he were handling a l

His lips twisted into a cold smile, and his eyes carried a sharp chill. His wone was casual to the core. “Who are you to talk badly about Madeline? We’ve got plenty of luxury cars at home. She can ride a different one every day” He pressed his tongue against his cheek, his tone becoming more menating “Don’t let me see you around here again. Get lost” 

Ker was forcefully tirown to the ground. Her backside hurt intensely, as if her tailbone had cracked. She looked up, her face stained with tears, at Gavin, who was standing tall against the light “What does threatening me achieve? If you’re so capable, why don’t you deal with Madeline? You’re just taking your anger nut on me

“Again?” Gavin looked disdainfully at the woman on the ground. “Did I also do that before?” 

Madeline’s mouth twitched. “Yeah, didn’t you throw her into the lake last time and scare her to tears?” 

Gavin scoffed, “Well, she deserved it. I really can’t stand people who are so self–absorbed.” 

Madeline sighed and rubbed her forehead. “You should be a bit more forgiving toward girls,” 

Madeline thought. He is the most popular guy at school with so many admirers. If he makes each one cry, what will people say about him? A complete jerk” 

Gavin looked at Madeline. “You don’t need to feel sorry for girls like her. She started talking bad about you behind your back just because she saw you getting into Caleb’s and Yohannes’s cars. It’s disgusting” 

Madeline frowned slightly, “Really?” 

When Xena heard this, she was stunned. She thought, I initially intended to secretly tell Gavin that he was being cheated on. Who knows they all knew each other? Are those cars also owned by Gavin’s friends? 

She was frustrated. “I didn’t mean to bad–mouth anyone. I was just giving a friendly reminder… After all, who can resist the temptation of money! Even if she isn’t selling you out for money now, it’s only a matter of time before she does.” 

Gavin walked over and put his arm around Madeline’s shoulders. The height difference was quite cute. He looked like he’d just heard the funniest joke ever. 

“For money?” He laughed freely, bending over a little. “If Maddie were really someone who did things for money, it’d be so much simpler 

He said this as he took out the key and pressed it. Xena was startled, turning to see a sports car making noise. “Is this your trembling slightly. ‘So… Gavin is a rich kid himself? Xena wondered. 

Madeline obediently went with Gavin to buy groceries.

Xena watched the car drive away, feeling both wronged and angry. She felt a bit foolish. She never would have guessed that Gavin, a college student who usually kept a low profile, could be so wealthy. 

Yvette saw everything and came over to offer comfort, “Didn’t you learn your lesson last time? Why are you still acting so recklessly? Everyone knows about their sweet relationship at the whole college. There’s no suspicion or cheating involved. And you, do you want to get close to Gavin and be the third wheel?” 

Xena looked at her best friend and stomped her foot. “What do you mean by ‘be the third wheel? I’m just trying to get to know him better. What if he ends up liking me more? They’re not married yet. Why can’t I pursue Gavin? Madeline hasn’t said anything, so why are you blaming me?* 

Yvette sighed and shook her head. Madeline hasn’t said anything, but Gavin’s attitude is quite clear 

Xena sported and set off to pack her belongings. Gavin had really frightened her earlier, and she was worried he’d hit her next time.
