Noon was approaching. As Madeline sat down to rest, Luisa walked over with a boxed meal, setting it on the table. “Maddie, you should eat quickly. We’re moving to the next set soon.” 

Madeline eyed the meal but didn’t have much appetite. To be honest, she was never a foodie, though her brothers had spoiled her recently. “It’s really true what they say–it’s easy to go from frugality to extravagance, but not the other way around.” She sighed. “I used to eat boxed meals all the time, but after being at home for so long. I’ve gotten used to better food.” 

She felt a little guilty about it, but Luisa was excited. “Look, the food’s better today! I heard Mr. Yandell thought everyone’s been working hard, so he paid for better meals out of his own pocket.” 

As she spoke, Luisa opened the box, revealing a scrumptious spread. There were honey–glazed drummettes, potato and bacon salad, grilled salmon, and a bowl of mushroom soup “Mr. Yandell is so kind. He may seem cold, but he’s really considerate,” Luisa remarked with a hint of admiration. 

Madeline’s appetite perked up at the sight of the food. It does smell good. This is definitely better than what we’ve had before.” 

She took a bite, her eyes lighting up. Madeline had been thinking of hiring someone to cook and deliver meals to set, but if the food stayed this good, there’d be no need. “Mr. Yandell really knows how to live,” she said with genuine appreciation. 

Meanwhile, Camille and Senna were also eating together when the former started coughing. “Ugh, why is the food so salty today? How are we supposed to eat this? Senna, get me some waterf 

Senna quickly poured her water, grumbling. “Right Don’t they know you’re from Zedfield? You’re used to lighter food. How can they expect us to ear this? I’ll talk to the staff later and have them change the food back tomorrow. We can’t let it affect your performance. 

However, Camille waved her off. “No need. It’s not a big deal.” 

“How can you say that? You’re the lead actress! The whole production is centered around you. You shouldn’t have to put up with this!” Senna protested. then stormed off to talk to the staff. 

After being told off, the staff member looked confused and said, “We still have the usual meals available. Today’s upgraded options are in addition. to the original ones, paid for by Mr. Yandell. If you don’t like the new dishes, you can have the regular ones.” 

Senna’s face turned red. She had seen the original meals but hadn’t wanted them because they didn’t look as appealing. “Why didn’t they just make the better food to your taste? Mr. Yandell has the money to improve the meals but didn’t consider the female lead’s preferences How disrespectful!” she thought 

Then, feeling embarrassed, she went back to Camille and complained to the latter. 

On the other hand, Madeline had nearly finished her meal and was now lying down, sipping a drink and squinting in the sunlight. A figure blocked her light, and she looked up to see Yohannes standing there. What’s the matter, Mr. Yandell Anything 1 can do for you?” she asked. 

“There’s a kiss scene this afternoon. Don’t eat anything too flavorful, I can’t stand the smell,” he said with a frown, though if one looked closely, his expression wasn’t as harsh as it seemed. 

Madeline exhaled playfully. “No worries. I already gargled. Mr. Yandell, are you just finding reasons to pick on me?” 

Yohannes smirked. “Do you really think I’d go out of my way to make trouble for your 

Madeline thought about it for a moment and nodded seriously. “Yes, I do!” 

Rockley, the assistant standing behind Yohannes, burst out laughing, unable to hold it in. Yohannes shot him a glare and then walked off. 

Luisa, who had been nearby, asked, “Maddie, why does Mr. Yandell act so cold toward you? He’s polite to everyone else. Did you offend him or, I don’t know, owe him money?” 

Madeline laughed. “No, nothing like that.” She leaned back in her chair, pulling out the script and studying it with a thoughtful expression, even pressing the pages against her nose for a second. 

The scene this afternoon involved the second female lead standing in for the female lead in a romantic moment. She initiated a kiss while offering him water, but he pushed her away, and she ended up twisting her ankle and falling down the stairs. The male lead then sees the female lead in the crowd and runs after her.

When filming began, Sylas pulled her aside and reminded her to focus on Yohannes. Madeline agreed without hesitation, 

On camera, the scene opened with young athletes sweating in the stadium as the audience watched. Madeline, dressed in a light yellow sundress

stood among the crowd, holding a water b 

bottle. Her golden skin and delicate bracelet caught the eye of the onlookers. 

After the male lead’s team won, Madeline ran confidently toward the field. The camera followed her, capturing her every movement. As the scene progressed, she found herself locking eyes with Yohannes. Her heart raced as she nervously stood on tiptoe, her gaze full of affection. At this moment, three cameras were filming them. 

Yohannes‘ ears turned red, and he frowned slightly. ‘So, even the love in her eyes is part of the performance?‘ he thought. 

“Cut” Sylas” voice rang out. “Yohannes, your expression’s not matching the scene. What’s wrong? Are you nervous around Madeline Hearing this, Yohannes backed away in a flash. 

He shook his head. “No, it’s just hot. I need some water. 

“Okay, take a minute to cool off, and readjust your mood, Sylas said, not 

not surprised. Yohannes was still new to acting, and intimate scenes like this were always tricky, especially for someone without much experience. 

Yohannes fame was on the rise, with the resources to back it up. Still, it wasn’t unusual for a young male actor to be nervous around an equally good–looking scene partner. 

But Sylas noticed that Yohannes didn’t seem to struggle with his scenes with Camille. Maybe he hasn’t filmed any intimate scenes with her yet? Sylas wondered. 

Being experienced in directing scenes of such nature, Sylas went over to offer Yohannes some advice, and after a brief break, the second take went much more smoothly. 

This time, Madeline was completely in the zone. As the cameras rolled, she stood on tiptoe again, eyes closed in anticipation as she leaned in to kiss Yohannes. He looked detached, almost indifferent, but Madelme didn’t hesitate. 

She was ready for the next beat–being pushed away and falling to the ground, her face showing pain and disappointment. But then she felt something unexpected. It feels soft… cold and sweet? Is this what kissing feels like? Madeline wondered.
