Thomas paused Asking for 500 thousand dollars made him extremely embarrassed. The taxi arrived. He laughed self–deprecatingly, shook his head, and got in the car. He wouldn’t be at ease even if he took the money. 

Conner watched the car drive away, frowning. He found the situation tricky.

Meanwhile, Caleb took Madeline home.

Madeline walked to the couch and sat down. “Caleb, aren’t you going to sleep? It’s already nine o’clock in the evening. Don’t you usually maintain a healthy lifestyle! 

Caleb smiled. Ir wondered when he had ever maintained a healthy lifestyle. Usually, he just returned to his room early to take care of things,

Caleb touched Madeline’s wet hair and asked. “Why don’t you dry it?” He then instructed the housekeeper, “Bring the hairdryer over.” 

Madeline touched her hair in confusion. “I can’t be bothered to blow dry my hair. I’ve wiped it briefly with the towel. It will dry on its own later, 

anyway 

“It’s winter now” Caleb smiled helplessly. After the housekeeper brought the hairdryer over, he personally dried Madeline’s hair. 

Madeline huddled on the couch with her back to Caleb. The hairdryer hummed, and the air was warm. She couldn’t help but yawn relaxedly and leaned on the couch with the pillow in her arms. 

Caleb’s fingers ran through Madeline’s hair as the hot air blew. He lowered his eyes, and his usually cold face looked particularly calm and peaceful. The housekeeper asked, “Should I wake Ms. Larson up?” 

Caleb raised his hand and said, “You can go now.”

Madeline’s breathing slowed down, and the hairdryer’s hot air made her ears and cheeks warm and rosy. Her lovely face and closed eyes made Caleb want to lean closer and stroke it.
