"Mom?" I called out then shut the front door with a loud bang, hoping to get her attention from whatever part of the house she was in since she obviously wasn't downstairs.

Ilene had dropped me off a few minutes ago near my pack borders and I walked the rest of the way. Man, can she talk. She didn't shut up for the entire time I was in the car and it wasn't even good conversation! Make up, clothes, make up, shopping, calories this, shopping, shopping and more shopping. I didn't even know buying the same top in 6 different colors was needed. She is obviously a bit spoiled....okay maybe a lot but besides being overly conceited and not that bright, she isn't so bad.

She mentioned she was going to marry her mate soon. I couldn't help but feel jealous at yet another pair of mates going to live happily ever after. Wish I could if had that.....But I'm happy for Ilene. She wouldn't tell me who it was though. All she said was that he was an Alpha and that she'd be sure to send me a wedding invite.

"Mom!" I yelled again but got no reply. Well then.

Since she seemed she wasn't here, I went into the kitchen to see if she left me any food or something. I glanced around for any bowls or covered plates on the counter but there was none.

I grabbed a pear from the fruit basket and jogged to the front door. I slipped on my flip flops and headed out of the door.

As I walked through my large pack village, I headed straight to the house where my answers might be given to me about my thought.

I knocked on the door.

"Who tha' hell is that at ma do' at this hour?! Can't ya see it's gettin' late you- Oh! Dani! You aren’t been ova to see me in fovea child."

She was the woman who knew anything about anything werewolf related and the only person who could probably have answers to my questions.

Mama Odie stared at me intently with squinted eyes.

"Hey Mama Odie. I know I haven't been by but a lot has been going o-"

"I know child. I done heard the village gossip. Come on in." She said and opened the door fully so I could come in.

"Then stop bullshitting me. Who did you bring here? I need to know!" Kaden yelled as he threw the knife into the desk and stood up abruptly.

"Why is this such a big deal?" I asked him with narrowed eyes.

"I just....I just need to know!" He exclaimed and ran a hand through his hair.

"Look, I have a meeting to attend too with a neighboring pack. We'll talk about this later."

Kade rubbed his nose then brushed past me and out the office.

I sighed and sat down in one of his chairs. He seemed SO interested in Danica. Though...he should know who she is I mean her scent was here that night so he should know it but he doesn't.

It's like....she smelled different to him. But how? That doesn't make any sense. Does it?
