In the East District of the Northern Territory, Dusky stood staring at Maxim from a distance away, puzzled by his presence.

"You, why are you here?" he asked, his brows furrowed.

Flanked by his subordinates, Maxim stood firm, appearing to be ready for anything. He approached Dusky confidently, saying, "I don’t care who you are, nor do I care what you’re planning. But remember this—we don’t need so-called gods meddling in our lives in the East District."

"You’re Maxim, aren’t you?" Dusky asked.

Maxim did not seem surprised by the question. "That’s right. I’ve already heard about you from Howl. Ruin, or whatever they call you, we stick to our principles here. At the very least, you're not welcome in the three cities of the East District."

Dusky found the whole situation rather strange. He had not expected Maxim to greet him with such a grand show of force.

"Maxim, you're an exorcist. Some things you've done, I can overlook, but..." Dusky's gaze shifted to the numerous young immortals standing behind Maxim. "Are you sure they'll accept the truth if I were to tell them?"

A cold sweat broke out on Maxim's back, but he stood firm, not letting himself be intimidated. "What do you mean? Stop beating about the bush."

"Fine, I'll be blunt. Your abilities and the way you once cleansed this area of immortals... Do I need to share that with the people behind you?"

"That... was for the greater good."

"The greater good, huh?" Dusky smirked, pointing at Maxim's chest.

"Humans are all the same, always needing a reason to justify their actions. Otherwise, they'd drown in guilt. 'The greater good'—it's the most pitiful excuse I've ever heard. Do you really think you can stop me with your powers? Don't forget, even Howl respects me."

In his dream, Maxim encountered Howl. "Is something wrong?" Maxim asked.

Howl replied casually, "A storm is coming. The East District will undergo a massive change because of one person."

"Who?" Maxim pressed for an answer, but Howl did not respond directly. Even Howl was not allowed to reveal divine secrets completely. Instead, he pointed to a bright star in the sky. Maxim was still puzzled, but Howl did not offer further explanation.

"Exorcist, don't forget our agreement."

"Of course, and don't forget what you once promised me," Maxim responded.
