Oakley's golden light protected him, but the lightning seemed to take on a life of its own as it swirled around his golden shield, attacking it.

Oakley had no choice but to summon his own lightning to shatter the golden lighting bolts. However, in the blink of an eye, the two figures in front of him vanished.

“That bastard! Just wait!”

Hearing Oakley leave, Linden and Aurora, who had been hiding in the corner, finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Before Linden could say anything, Aurora threw herself into his arms. “You’re not dead! You jerk! Do you have any idea how worried I was about you?”

Linden was taken aback. He had not even said anything. How did she know it was him?

“How did you know, Aurora?”

“Idiot! Did you think I wouldn’t recognize you?” Aurora replied before starting to cry. This time, it was not out of pain.

“Thank goodness, thank goodness...”

“Aurora...” Linden removed his mask.

Aurora looked up, and when she saw that familiar face, she was filled with joy.

"Aurora, there’s no time. We’ll catch up later," Linden said.

“Where are you going?”

“To get revenge on Oakley and the others.”

“But—”

"I understand your worries. Don't worry, I won't be in any danger."

"Really?"

"Of course. Didn't you see me earlier? I'm much stronger now, and I can seek revenge."

Aurora fell silent. She knew there was no convincing Linden anymore.

"Be careful,” she finally said.

“Okay.”

Even some time after Linden left, Aurora still could not shake off her unease. “If only… If only I were stronger, maybe I wouldn’t have to be protected by him. Maybe I wouldn’t have to be left behind…”

Two giant golden beasts charged toward Whistler. He could only dodge.

“This guy unleashed another barrier. Everything around me seems to be an illusion. This barrier pulled me into a strange space… What I see in front of me is not the real Hydra Hill…”

Suddenly, a golden lion pounced at Whistler. He narrowly dodged but still ended up getting clawed by the lion and howled in pain.

“So, that’s how it is! All defenses are ineffective within this barrier. No wonder he avoided my earlier attack as if it were some great threat when it was just ordinary."
