A world blanketed in snow. Everything seemed frozen. Yet, before Sven, there was only darkness. He had collapsed on the way to the mountaintop.

A dream came upon him while he was in a daze. In the dream, his family was together, happy. His mother was preparing dinner, and a succulent turkey was sizzling in the oven. Sven and Angela were by the fireplace, pestering their father for a story.

Their father smiled indulgently and began to recount an ancient tale.

"Long, long ago, an evil dragon wreaked havoc on the land, causing suffering to the people. The king sacrificed his life to gain the blessings of the gods. Wielding their enchanted swords, the knights defeated the dragon.

"But as they were unable to bear the king's departure, they prayed to the gods to revive him. Moved by the knights' courage and determination, the king and his people rebuilt their homeland and lived happily for centuries... until..."

"Sven!"

His father's words were interrupted.

Young Sven hesitated as he looked at his sister.

"What's wrong, Angela?"

"Wake up!"

"What?"

In an instant, they were adults again.

"Please wake up! Sven, please!"

Suddenly, the old man disappeared and appeared behind Sven, lunging toward him, mouth poised to bite. Though not a priest, Sven's rich combat experience instinctively prompted him to dodge forward, narrowly avoiding the old man's bite to his neck.

Sven looked at the gaunt old man incredulously. He had been so incredibly fast that he almost could not see him clearly.

"Wait! Wait a minute!" Sven hurriedly called out to the old man. "What are you trying to do?"

“Hahaha, do you even need to ask?” The old man laughed hysterically. “It’s been decades, and finally, someone appears. I've been starving. Of course, I want to eat you!"

With that, the old man opened his mouth again and lunged at Sven.

Sven instinctively raised his arm to block, but that was exactly what the old man wanted. It was then that Sven realized the gravity of the situation and reached for the dagger at his waist without thinking.
