Elisa smiled. "Nothing. A colleague called and said the matter was settled, so I returned."

Julia was surprised and did not expect Elisa would come back.

"That's awesome! You can spend more time with me."

Elisa approached Julia with a smile and held her arm. "Yeah, I can stay with you the whole day." She cooed.

Julia was on cloud nine and beamed from ear to ear. "Sure!"

While saying that, she was about to get Elisa to sit on the couch. But before Elisa sat down, Julia suddenly said, "Come and chat with me in my room."

Julia wanted to talk privately with Elisa and ask about her plan. They might be unable to speak freely in the living room as other people were around.

Elisa checked the time. Thinking that Gareth would not return so soon, she nodded and went upstairs with Julia.

"He'll be away for a week," Gareth answered briefly.

It was Elisa's idea to get Gareth here, so she naturally had to cooperate. She held Julia's hand and said gently, "Grandma, I can still be with you even if you go for the checkup."
