“Ms. Benett, should I follow suit?” Damian, reluctant to interrupt their conversation, was also poisoned. Without seeking guidance, his own life could be in jeopardy.

Elisa nodded at Brie, who approached her.

Pouring three small pills into Brie's hand, she said, “Take one in the morning, one at noon, and one at night. These will protect your arteries. Your case isn't as severe as Gareth's, so a few doses of alternative medicine should do.”

With that, Brie held the pills and walked over to Damian.

“Ms. Benett has explained everything to you. You can leave for now. Once she prepares the prescription, it will be delivered to you.”

Brie didn't offer Damian a friendly face or tone.

She hadn't forgotten that this whole situation was Damian's fault. Fortunately, Elisa was okay; otherwise, Damian would be paying a hefty price.

Damian nodded, slowly getting up.

“Elisa, once things settle down this time, allow me to be by your side. I can't be without you. Let's forget the past and start anew, okay?” Gareth spoke softly while holding Elisa's hand.

Although Elisa didn't pull away, her expression remained stoic, like still waters, showing little reaction.

“It seems like you're not planning to forgive or accept me. Elisa, you didn't hesitate even in matters of life and death. I'm wondering, what do I need to do to ease the pain in your heart?”

Gareth pursed his lips, his expression dim and filled with sorrow.

Elisa didn't want to see him like this, so she turned her gaze away. “My emotions earlier were just because I was afraid of losing you. There's nothing else to it, so you need not overthink it!”

With that, Elisa stood up to walk over to the couch.

As Gareth saw the distance Elisa created between them, his heart sank.

He noticed Elisa focusing on her phone, fingers swiftly tapping.
