“Well, I know.” Will smiled as if relieved by her confession.
He will always be Mr. Darcey to her.
Elisa sighed a little, wondering what he was thinking. However, what he had just stated was apparent; if he had stressed it further, it would be wrong.
She dropped the subject, “As for the plan, I will come up with one within ten days. When do you want to put what you demand into practice?”
“Implementation can wait until you are free. It needs to be kept a secret because it’s a significant investment. I don’t want anyone to sabotage our covert pact.”
Gareth can never know.
Elisa didn’t have disagreements, “Alright, but Gareth must collaborate with me. Possibly, more than you would like.”
“Well, I know you need to look at the arrangement. As for the Darcey Group, would you like to have some intel? Elisa, you should never underestimate your value.”
Elisa said without thinking, “No, I’m not looking to pry. Your business is your company’s trade secrets. You can text me with updates.”
She had thought things through and figured Will Darcey may have taken precautions.
Elisa was still digesting the fact of Will’s feelings for her.
Will nodded, “Hey, let’s finish eating.”
Elisa shook her head, “No, I’m safe. Besides, who do you think has the upper hand now?”
Will chuckled, “It seems you have already made up your mind.”
Elisa smiled.
In a sensible move, he stopped asking further questions about her family.
The two people ate quietly. Elisa felt much more at ease than before, despite maintaining her poise around Will. Similarly, the friend could drop his guard knowing they were on the same team.
When they finished eating, a phone rang.
