"Susie," I called softly, stepping closer to her. However, her gaze was fixed on Mack. "What did you mean when you mentioned the heart inside me?" she demanded.

Mack was at a loss for words, leaving me to intervene, "Susie..."

"Don't talk to me," she snapped, for the first time ever. Right now, she only wanted answers from Mack, even though she seemed confused. But it wasn't hard to guess the truth if you thought about it.

Mack stepped forward, looking at me. "Sis, why don't you go inside? I'll explain everything to her."
