She slipped off her sandals and plopped down onto the sandy beach. After dusting off her hands, she began threading slices of meat and seafood onto skewers.

The tour guide prepared items such as slices of bread, lettuce, pork cutlets, and grilled sausage. The seafood was purchased fresh from a nearby town, and most of the barbecue–friendly options were fish. shrimp, and scallops.

The pork cutlets had been sliced into small pieces, requiring one to thread them onto skewers themselves. The same went for the seafood.

Taking matters into their own hands and providing for themselves, it was an unforgettable experience to prepare a barbecue on the beach. As the sea breeze blew, they shared laughter and stories with unfamiliar travelers

During their conversation, the young man mentioned that his name was Maxton Hertz, and his companion was called Calvin Zabinski.

He put even more effort into grilling the skewers.

Lenora paused, grabbing a string of toasted bread slices. She paired it with a cumin–sprinkled pork cutlet, relishing the meal as she admired the sea view.

Not far off, the sea was churning, with someone surfing the waves.

After a while, Maxton noticed that Lenora and Sophia were barely touching the food on their plates. He took the initiative and said, “Ladies, would you like some coffee? I can go to the nearby town to buy some

Lenora glanced at the small town not too far away, and she declined with a smile, saying. “There’s no need that. Don’t we have drinks on the bus?”

“Let me get you ladies some drinks.” Maxton swiftly ran back to the bus, returning with several bottles of beverages. “Ms. Wilkin, which one would you like?”

Thanks. I’ll just take this.” Lenora casually picked up a bottle.

“I’ll have a Sprite,” Sophia uttered, pulling a bottle of Sprite from Maxton’s arms. She looked at him with a smile and said, “Maxton, you must be quite popular at school. You’re really diligent.” 

Maxton scratched his head in embarrassment.

Two hours later, the tour guide began urging them to pack up their belongings, ready to set off on their departure.

Back on the bus, Sophia leaned toward Lenora, whispering, “You don’t like Connor, so how about Maxton?”

Lenora gave Sophia a look. “What on earth are you always thinking about?”

Lenora rubbed her forehead. “No matter who it is, I currently have no plans in that regard.”

“All right.” Sophia sighed. “Such a waste.”

“I actually want to go for him, but he isn’t interested in me.”

Lenora and Sophia ascended to the top of the lighthouse, their gaze sweeping across the vast, endless expanse of the sea. The breathtaking view of Valkyrion’s seascape was entirely within their sight.

They lingered there for a moment, welcoming the beautiful sunset.

As the fiery sun descended, it cast a golden brilliance over the sea, imparting a layer of golden hue to the seagulls soaring across the sky.
