Zachary looked up, his gaze immediately landing on the figure of Lenora standing at the doorway.

She stood against the light, her facial expression obscured and hard to discern. Yet, he had a gut feeling that she was looking at him.

“I happened to run into Charles in the corridor. Thus, I thought I’d come over and say hello to everyone.” Lenora said with a slight smile, her gaze sweeping over the crowd.

“Are you here to eat with friends?” Zachary asked.

“Mm–hmm.”

Michael asked with a smile, “Lenora, what have you been busy with lately?”

“The endorsement of MQ.”

Michael was taken aback, suddenly realizing he had dropped a bombshell.

However, the others were unaware that was a ticking bomb. Pointing at Susanna, Charles laughed and said, “Isn’t the spokesperson right here?”

With a warm yet indifferent smile, Lenora walked straight up to the table and picked up an empty wine glass. She poured himself a cup of wine and said, “Today, I happened to run into you all. Allow me to toast you with wine. I apologize for the intrusion, and I’ll invite for a meal another day. Zachary, this toast is for you too.”

He leaned over to pick up the wine glass on the table, poured a small amount, and placed it in front of Lenora. “Lenora, do me a favor. Toast a drink to Susanna.”

His words wounded Lenora.

After all, he was asking her, his wife, to propose toast to Susanna in front of all his friends.

Lenora wondered if he considered her as his wife at all or if she was merely a plaything for his amusement.
