Zephyr, however, paid no further heed to her, striding back into the private room.

Alice gritted her teeth.

I clearly heard Caesare explaining to Fay, claiming he has no relationship with me whatsoever. That means he must have feelings for her. Otherwise, he wouldn't have bothered explaining to her.

Alice swiftly called Isla.

Isla stealthily slipped out of the private room before answering her phone. “Alice, how did it go? What did Caesare say?”

It was only because Isla had tipped off Alice today that Alice knew Zephyr was here.

Alice lowered her head, a look of disappointment crossing her face. Heartbroken, she said, “He told me he's in love with someone else and that he will never be with me.”

“That's impossible.”

“It's true.”

“But all these years, I've never seen him treating any woman in any special way.”

“I saw that woman. Just now, I personally witnessed Caesare stopping her and explaining the situation to her, probably afraid that she might misunderstand.” Alice sighed, feigning strength. “Isla, let it be. If he doesn't like me, then he just doesn't. I think I'm ready to give up.”
