"That's my personal investment; it's not related to the company," I explained. After all, being a doctor was my own interest. Opening a hospital had nothing to do with the businesses my family owned.

Lindsey nodded. "Alright, then I won't bother you anymore."

The hospital had all the necessary equipment, but at the moment it still looked a bit rundown. It definitely needed a full renovation. At this rate, it would probably take two months before we could open.

I transferred the money to Ms. Smith and didn't really pay much attention to the matter after that. There was still plenty going on at the company, and most of it had fallen on my shoulders.

One day, while I was busy handling work, a sudden commotion erupted outside.

"Lindsey, what's going on?" I dialed the line to the secretary's office, but the person who picked up was Mira. She sounded anxious as she spoke. "Bad news. Someone wants to jump off the building."

"Jump?" I frowned and quickly dashed out.

"It's one of our employees. He was fine, but for some reason he just went up to the rooftop. He says he wants to jump down. Ms. Harper has headed up."

"I'll go too." I wanted to go up, but Mira stopped me. "Ms. Harper told me not to let you go. There are reporters out there and police officers as well. Ms. Harper said this must be a scheme by someone. You can't show your face."

I frowned. "Who else is up there?"

Mira shook her head. "It's just Ms. Harper."

My face turned cold. "I'm going up."

If that man decided to jump, the blame would fall on Lindsey. I knew she was being considerate and looking out for me, but there was no way I would let her handle this alone.
