Lukas' curved his lips into a faint smile, "Don't worry, I'll buckle up right away."

His gaze held a tender and accommodating quality she had never seen before, making it almost seem like she was making a fuss out of nothing. This irritated Reese to no end. Feeling as if she's the one deliberately making it harder for the two of them.

With skillful hands, Lukas helped her fasten the seatbelt and then stepped back to start the car.

Reese's grip on the handrail relaxed, and her tense emotions eased slightly.

However, before she could completely calm down, she heard Lukas suddenly ask, "By the way, what were you doing at the May 1st Hotel yesterday?"

Reese's eyes flickered, and she struggled to keep her voice devoid of emotional fluctuations, "Catching a cheater."

Reese nodded, her voice subdued, "That man named Walter cheated on Mariel with that woman, Anika Styles, yet he still refused to call off the engagement. He claimed that the Chase Family had no evidence of his betrayal, so Mariel resorted to this desperate plan."

Lukas' mood became complex upon hearing this, "This is that woman's matter, what does it have to do with you? Besides, I heard that you got into a fight at the cafe before because of her affairs, resulting in two canceled orders, and yesterday, the design department gave you a hard time as well. Do you think it's worth it?"

Lukas' words ignited a spark of anger within Reese.

Do you think I shouldn't have helped Mariel, or do you think Walter Simmon's cheating is justifiable? In your eyes, maybe such things are insignificant, or even admirable, am I right?"

Emily's consecutive retorts painted a displeased expression on Lukas' face, "I didn't say I admire such behavior. Reese, you're getting a bit out of control emotionally, learn to calm down!"

Lukas' demeanor was composed, his attitude self-assured. Making her feel something as rose blooming.
