Willow paused, tensing up. She circled the sofa, aiming for the corner seat furthest away.

Suddenly, her wrist was grabbed the moment she passed by Jasper.

His callused hand had a strong grip and felt hot to touch.

Willow involuntarily shuddered at this. She looked back at him.

He cast her a glance and pulled her along to sit beside him, keeping a hand around her waist in an intimate gesture.

Shocked by this, Willow tried struggling, but Jasper’s hold was too firm.

As Jasper sensed her resistance, he grabbed her waist to make her stay quietly beside him.

“What is it, Grandpa?” Jasper spoke up first.

Frank glanced at them to see Jasper easily hugging Willow’s waist in a possessive manner like they were an intimate couple.

He knew Jasper was putting on a show for him.

“About Yelena…”

“I don’t want to talk about the alliance marriage,” Jasper interrupted.

Frank looked at Jasper through aged eyes and then swept a glance at the latter’s hand on Willow’s waist. “Leon told me you didn’t return to the mansion last night.”

“Grandpa, you seemed bored lately. I had Tyson book air tickets for you and Grandma so you can go on a vacation.” Jasper poured Frank some tea.

While he didn’t respond to Frank’s words directly, the rejection in his reply was obvious.

He rejected the marriage alliance and refused to marry Yelena.

Also, it was his business whether or not he went home.

She said in a professional tone, “Mr. Hughes, the food competition has now ended. The judges and audience have shown fair judgment to the contestants. Viewership ratings for the contest on the TV station’s end were good as well. This investment was a profitable one.”

Sensing her detachment and indifference, Jasper looked up at her. “Are you happy?”

Willow paused. She didn’t understand what he meant by that.

Why would she be happy if the food contest was a success?

Jasper’s sharp gaze was making Willow nervous for some reason.

Did he perhaps notice something?

Feeling uncertain, Willow said awkwardly, “Of course. It’s another successful investment, so I’m happy for the company.”

Jasper smirked. “Your best friend’s daughter won the cast prize and George would be getting a raise due to the success of the project. It was killing two birds with a stone, so you’d definitely be happy.”
