The bodyguards were too tall for Noelle to get a clear look at the man emerging from the elevator, but she could make out his tall figure. He wore a dark suit with the sleeves rolled up slightly, revealing his long, clean fingers. However, his facial features remained unclear under the dim light.

Noelle jumped up, waving her hand and calling out loudly, "Mr. Greene, I'm from Maple Enterprise, I—"

Before she could finish, a bodyguard clamped a hand over her mouth and pushed her back toward the stairwell.

"If you cause any more trouble, don't blame us for being rude," he warned before walking away.

Noelle sighed as she sat on the stairs. It seemed that meeting the heir of the Greene family wasn't going to be easy.

After thinking it over, she called Alfred. "I need to tell you something. Maple Enterprise's investment is likely going to fall through."

"Fall through? Why do you think so?" Alfred asked with a chuckle.

There was no way Cedric wouldn't invest in Maple Enterprise—he was practically handing Noelle the results on a silver platter.

Noelle explained what had happened with Donovan. "I even saw Mr. Greene just now."

"What? You saw him?" Alfred responded, clearly surprised.

"Yes, but it's hard to meet him. I only saw his back before his bodyguards stopped me at the stairs," Noelle added with a sigh. "Alfred, do you have any way of getting in touch with him? I'd really like to talk to him about the investment."

Alfred, whose family was quite wealthy, should have some connections. She didn't want to lose to Donovan.

"That's easy. I'll reach out to him," Alfred reassured.

"Okay," she said.

After hanging up, Noelle got to her feet and dusted off her skirt. She figured she would head home for now and try again later.

"Hey, Noelle, why are you hiding on the stairs? Did Mr. Greene's bodyguards stop you?" Xenia said.

Xenia's anger boiled over, and she stormed towards Noelle to strike her. "You little bitch!"

Noelle easily sidestepped, letting Xenia swing at thin air. The impact caused Xenia to lose her balance, and she tumbled down the stairs with a scream.

Noelle looked down at her from above, cold amusement in her gaze. "Goodbye. See you never again."

Just then, Donovan appeared at the top of the stairs. "Noelle, how dare you hurt Xenia?" he demanded, his eyes burning with anger.

Noelle coldly replied, "I didn't lay a hand on her."

Donovan shot a glare at James. "Why are you standing there? Call the police! Arrest her!"

Suddenly, a voice rang out. "I'd like to see anyone try."
