Noelle dialed Frank's number, but the call went unanswered. Still, she was almost certain Lucas was right.

Lucas turned to Donovan, his voice full of righteous anger. "Donovan, did I say anything wrong?"

Donovan's expression stiffened. "You misheard. What Frank and I talked about was how I regretted missing Noelle's call, which led to Wyatt's amputation."

Noelle pressed him. "And what if you had answered back then?"

Donovan hesitated for a moment. "Then, we would've thought it through more carefully."

"And if not amputating meant he would die?" Noelle questioned.

Donovan fell silent because there was only one answer—amputation was the only way to save Wyatt's life. Of course, he could not admit that. Instead, he deflected. "No one knows what could've happened back then."

Xenia shouted, "Exactly! No one knew! And yet, all of you blame me—is that fair? I'll say this now—I won't stop until the foundation holds Xenia accountable. Let's see if she's got some magic trick to escape this!"

With that, she turned and went upstairs. The room fell into an awkward silence.

Lucas let out a cold laugh. "Donovan, you're a disappointment. Once I get ahold of Frank, I'll make sure he clears up the truth. Noelle won't take the fall for this."

"Watch your mouth! Who do you think you're talking to?" Donovan's face darkened with guilt. Now, they were all siding with Noelle one by one, going against him.

He could not help but wonder if the truth even mattered after all these years.

After Lucas left, only three people remained in the room. Wyatt stepped in front of Donovan and said, "Donovan, I finally got to be with the person I love. Are you just going to stand by and watch Xenia get dragged into a lawsuit?"

However, Donovan barely looked at him and instead turned to Xenia. "Did she really agree to be with you and to marry you?"

He had always felt guilty about Wyatt's disability, which was why he had indulged him over the years. However, he never expected Wyatt to fall for Xenia.

Afterward, she quickly grabbed her phone and called Sean, but his phone was off. She silently cursed, "Damn it. Can Dad even handle this?"

The next morning, Noelle was woken up by the ringing of her phone.

Tilly's voice came through, apologetic as she said, "Sorry to call so early, but there's been a development with the foundation's supplier."

"Did someone else die?" Noelle asked instinctively.

Tilly explained, "Not this time, but the supplier got exposed for running a massive kickback scheme with multiple foundations. They've already been arrested. We've also found that car from the dealership again at the supplier's location. This time, we managed to snap a picture of the driver."

"Send me the photos." Noelle's heartbeat pounded in her chest.
