Sabrina's POV
It started with a growl from my dad, which passed on to my sister and mother. Everyone else seemed to follow suit, the tension growing to become even bigger than the smile that was plastered on Eleanor's face.
It was at that moment that I regretted my decision.
"Sabrina, what is the meaning of this?" My father asks me, never taking his eyes off of the enemy.
One could tell that Eleanor was enjoying this a little too much. I mean, even Aiden was looking like he would rather be anywhere else but here.
"I invited Eleanor to dine with us. You all wanted me to accept Aiden and that includes his mother. So, family, just as you all so nicely forgave Aiden for his transgressions, I hope you can give Eleanor the same grace." I say and Josey scoffs.
"That is different, and you know it!" Josey says.
"Sabrina, this is the same woman that belongs to the family that drove us away and you were forced to grow up without your real parents." My mother shouts out.
"And Aiden is from the same family, but you expect me to share a bed with him and even exchange fluids plus combine our DNA. Which is worse? No offense Aiden, I do not find you repulsive." I say.
"Goddess has a point there..." Cayden throws a few words in but gets elbowed by Josey for it.
"Oh, he was too young to have taken part in those atrocities." My dad defends and I chuckle in disbelief.
"You cannot expect me to hate Eleanor for what she put you and mother through. Granted, it would have been nice to grow up knowing my place in life and not thinking I have been a fraud during my time on earth. This is also my home so who I decide to break bread with is not your concern. I will have her grandchildren, so it only makes sense to bring her back into our lives." I speak.
"Then you and your family can break bread on your own, leave us out of it," Josey says, dragging Cayden out of the room with her. Mother and father leave in a huff too, not forgetting to threaten my mother-in-law with a growl on the way out.
"Well, at least there was no bloodshed..." Eleanor says, taking a seat at the end of the table.
"Lucky for you." Aiden finally chimes in, after sheepishly staying quiet this entire time.
