After Lucy entered the mansion, she sat by the window and watched Verian leave.

Yanni hugged her from behind, leaned over and whispered into her ear, “What did Verian say to you?”

“She wanted me to forgive Heaton.”

Yanni stared at the side of her face with a burning gaze. He said, “Are you willing to?”

Lucy slightly looked to her side and said, “Are you hoping that I will?”

“Heaton caused us to miss out on ten years. I should hate him but that happened a very long time ago. However after his accident, I suddenly realized I don’t actually hate him that much. The only reason why I’ve gone out of my way to butt heads with him, laid all my resentment and hatred onto him in the last ten years that you left me was because of how much I missed you. Now that you’re back, I suddenly only wish for a peaceful life.”

Lucy felt slightly perplexed when she heard Yanni saying that he wanted a ‘peaceful life’.

Yanni chuckled and said, “All these years, I was viewed as a chaotic man in other people’s eyes. That was because I wished for the end of the world for everyone to get a taste of what it felt like to lose someone they loved. I didn’t even hope to live a peaceful life for myself because without you, there isn’t peace to live for. Sammie, now that you’re back, I no longer wish to care about anything else and I can give up everything including my share of my family’s inheritance. If they want to fight tooth and nail for it, they can do so. As long as I have you, it’s enough for me.”

Lucy’s eyes turned red as she reached out to hug his neck tightly while burning her face in him. She said, “If someday you found out that I’m different from the Sammie you imagined, will you be disappointed?”

“How could I? As long as it’s you, I won’t ever be disappointed.”

At night, Lucy received a phone call from Verian whilst Yanni was working in the study.

“I’ll promise you. As long as you have a way to awaken Heaton’s consciousness, I am willing to leave him.”

“How can I believe you just by you saying that you’d be leaving him?”

Verian bluntly replied, “I will get the divorce done as soon as possible. I don’t have the means to forge documents to lie to you. When Heaton is back, I will leave North City immediately.”

Yanni received a phone call from assistant Dan.

“President Quain, I’ve found out where that five million clearly went. Miss Joyce transferred that five million to the same account. That account belongs to a man named Harvey Xanthos. He has a daughter that has leukemia. He has just finished the bone marrow compatibility test this month.”

Yanni clutched his phone while his gaze seemed slightly cold. He spoke in a soft tone, “Don’t expose this matter. Continue your investigation. Let me know immediately when you found anything at all.”

“Sure, President Quain.”

After Yanni had just hung up the call, Lucy knocked on his door.

“Aunt Yen sliced up some fruits. Have some before you carry on working?”

Lucy placed the fruits on his desk. She said after noticing his silence, “Carry on with your work then, I won’t bother you.”

Yanni grabbed onto her as she stumbled onto his lap. Yanni then pressed his lips on her ear while exhaling his warm breath on her face.

“I am more tempted to eat you than fruits right now.”

Lucy blushed heavier as she said, “Stop fooling around.”

“Let’s get married, Sammie.”

“Huh?”

She was shocked at his sudden suggestion.

Yanni patted her long hair and smiled compassionately as he said, “Did I scare you?”

“I feel like it’s a little too fast.”

“I can give you enough time to be mentally ready but don’t reject me, okay?”

She could not bear to refuse Yanni’s deep manly gaze. She said, “I… Yanni, we’re not kids anymore. Perhaps your feelings now are just an unresolved dream you have ten years ago and maybe you don’t love me that much. I think you need to seriously consider matters regarding marriage… huu…”

The man immediately pressed his lips against hers. He was kissing her heavily.

A single passionate kiss made her blush heavily.

Yanni stared at her lowered face and said to her clearly, “Listen closely. It doesn’t matter how many years have gone by or how much we’ve gone through but I will still want to marry you, and make you my Madam Quain.”
