"Release me, Serene Ludd." The man commanded her in a cold, stern tone.

However, Serene was not his subordinate, so she had no reason to listen to Wilson. The woman persisted; she crossed both of her tiny hands to hug his waist tighter.

"No. I won't. If I release you, you'll just send me back to North City, and I won't ever see you again!"

Wilson looked out his windows and noticed a few of his colleagues stared at them from the outside. Then he looked at the woman in his arms; his head hurt.

Those colleagues behaved as if they had not seen a pair of lovers in eight lifetimes. Then he stared intensely at them.

Wilson relented. "If you release me, we can discuss sending you back to North City."

However, Serene's back faced the door, so she could not see the crowd that had gathered. She assumed Wilson wanted to trick her into releasing him, so she shook her head violently.

"I won't let go! You're trying to trick me into letting you go before immediately kicking me out, right?"

Wilson felt helpless. "Serene… I'm not lying to you."

Serene did not believe him; she sniffled as she spoke in a depressing tone, "We've parted for so many days; do you not even miss me the slightest bit? I tried to be busy with work so that I won't think about you but Wilson… I really did miss you, dearly."

The spectators by the door looked excited.

Since Serene did not receive a reply, she continued, "Say something, please? Why aren't you saying anything? If you're not going to say anything, then allow me…"

Wilson was speechless.

Serene suddenly looked up at him, grabbed his collar with her slender hands, stood on her toes, and kissed his thin lips.

The spectators were shocked, and they exclaimed, "Holy sh*t!"

After Serene kissed him, there were tears on her lashes. She gulped and said. "I've tried so hard not to think about you, but every time I pick up my phone, I would instinctively check for your calls. I knew I was in too deep when I anxiously waited for you to reply to my texts."

As Wilson stared at her sad face, his heart quivered. He felt as if her tears struck heavily against his chest. It felt ten thousand times more painful than a bullet.

Serene stared at him hopefully and anxiously as she said, "I really want to be with you. I…"

Wilson reached out to cover her mouth.

Serene could only mumble in reply.

Then she stared at him with a puzzled look.

Wilson immediately told the spectators at the door, "Are you guys done?"

Serene's eyes widened as she frantically looked toward the door as she blushed!

Serene immediately ran into the washroom and slammed the door shut!

The people at the door gave Wilson teasing stares. They even spoke to Wilson in Serene's tone.

"Boss, she really wants to be with you!"

"Wilson, she missed you dearly…." Some wet kiss noises followed that.

The corners of Wilson's eyes twitched as he said, "Head out to the damn field right now!! Give me two hundred laps! You are not allowed to have dinner if you miss even a single lap!"

After he said that, he kicked the door hard.

The spectators outside started to discuss amongst themselves. "What are we going to do? Our boss is mad! How terrifying!"

Serene curled up like a ball as she crouched behind the washroom door. She felt so ashamed that she wanted to burrow through the cracks!

She frantically tried to recall everything she had said to Wilson. How embarrassing it must have been if those people were to hear her cheesy statements!
