The search went on for three whole days at Robinson Island but Wilson nor his body was found.

The rescuers were not the only people who thought that Wilson was no doubt dead since even Ruby thought his chances of survival were pretty slim.

However, Serene refused to give up as she was determined to stay on Robinson Island and refused to leave.

She wanted to see him if he was alive and meet his corpse if he was dead. She had to see something to believe if he was dead or alive.

However, someone unintentionally made a remark and said, “It’s been so many days now. Perhaps his body was already eaten by sharks since we can’t even locate his corpse.”

Ruby glared sharply at that man. She exclaimed, “If you don’t know what to say then shut the hell up! Don’t make me slice your tongue!”

That person hastily clammed up.

Serene was hugging her knees while squatting by the beach. She looked out into the vast ocean while her heart felt cold.

Her vision went blurry as she stared at the surface of the sea. She seemingly noticed Wilson’s silhouette in her daze so she slowly stood up and headed straight into the sea while trying to catch up to him.

The moment Ruby turned to look back at her, she noticed Serene walking toward the ocean!

“Serene!”

Ruby immediately reached out and pulled Serene back!

“What on earth are you doing, Serene?! Wilson’s fate is still uncertain and that means there is still a chance that he’s alive! How can you die now? If you choose to die now, what would Wilson do when he comes back and realizes you’re gone?”

A ray of light flashed across Serene’s eyes and she noticed the surface of the sea was empty and Wilson’s silhouette had disappeared. When she snapped out of her trance, she said, “I… I think I saw him earlier.”

Ruby felt that Serene was not alright. She was seriously not feeling well since she started to hallucinate.

Serene would slowly become a mental health patient if this continued and if Wilson did not return.

Ruby grabbed onto Serene’s shoulder and stared intensely at her. She said, “Listen here, Serene Ludd, Wilson is not dead yet so you need to hang in there, okay?”

Serene felt like her entire soul had been sucked away as she replied in a defeated tone, “Yeah, I believe he will return to me.”

They still had not found Wilson’s body even after a week had gone by.

Even Ruby was starting to give up as she said, “Serene, I think we will need to head back to Z Country now.”

Serene was hugging the candy jar Wilson left for her while she teared up. She shook her head and said, “I don’t want to head back…”

Ruby could not bear to tell Serene that Wilson was already dead since Serene might have already known how low of a possibility it was for Wilson to survive in her heart. Even if Serene was unwilling to head back, the tone of her voice did not sound as confident as she initially was. Only helplessness and hopelessness remained in her voice.

There was one last candy remaining in the jar and Serene did not have the heart to eat it because if she finished it, Wilson would truly not return.

Serene was like a helpless child as she clutched onto that candy jar tightly in her hands. She said while sobbing, “Before Wilson departed, he told me that he bought an island and would take me there for a vacation when he comes back. We will be getting our marriage certificate when he comes back… but he’s no longer here so who am I going to marry and who am I going to spend my honeymoon with? Am I going to spend my honeymoon alone… I don’t even know where that island is… wuuu…”

Serene broke down into a puddle of tears while she clutching onto the candy jar.

In the end, Serene obediently returned to Z Country with Ruby.

Serene stayed in Wilson’s mansion upon returning to Z Country. Ruby wanted to stay behind to keep her company but Serene refused.

“Stephen is already dead and Wilson is no longer here so there shouldn’t be anyone who would use me as leverage against Wilson anymore. Even if they wanted to, Wilson is no longer here… you don’t need to watch over me anymore. I will stay here for a while.”

Ruby asked in a compassionate voice while staring at her, “What exactly are you waiting for, here?”

“I want to wait for Wilson here. Maybe he’ll come back.”

“What if… you’re unable to wait for him?”
