Lynn had put the phone on speaker. As soon as she heard that Brad wasn't coming over tonight, her face fell.

He quickly opened the window and ordered the maids to clean up. As fresh air wafted in, the stench in the room dissipated. Once again, the air became fresh.

After the maids cleaned the mess on the floor and changed the carpet, Brad signaled for them to leave. He finally sat by the bed once they were all gone.
