Without a word, Brad held the exquisitely wrapped gift box in front of Nadine. His beautiful eyes were narrowed as he stared at her.

Deep down, he was remorseful for his actions earlier. How could he force himself on Nadine that morning?

When Adam had berated him, Brad had reflected on his behavior and realized it was wrong. He considered apologizing but found himself unable to say the words, so he thought of a way to make amends.

Though not as exceptional as the original, this set of emeralds was still of high quality, featuring vibrant stones and a refined elegance that suited Nadine perfectly.

Nadine stared at the beautifully wrapped gift, making no move to accept it. She raised her chin and looked at Brad. "What do you mean by this?"

This was the first time Brad had given her something.

Honestly, a part of her felt a spark of joy upon seeing the gift, but it was quickly overshadowed by her feelings of disappointment and sadness.

Instead of accepting the gift, Nadine was actually questioning him. Brad's impatience grew. "What's with all the questions? I'm just giving you a gift."

Brad's eyebrows knitted in frustration at her words. His patience snapped. "Nadine, if you can't speak politely, then just don't talk! I'm trying to be civil here. Don't be ungrateful!"

He couldn't bring himself to say the words "I'm sorry". Yet, knowing he had wronged Nadine and was unable to find a better way to apologize, this was the only option he had.

But now, Nadine's lack of appreciation and her mocking tone felt like a betrayal.

Nadine looked up at the man towering over her. This was the Brad she knew—the one who would immediately adopt an air of superiority after just a few words.
