Gigi's idea gave Evelyn a new plan. Evelyn smiled, hugged her daughter, and kissed her on the cheek.

"You're right, sweetie! I'll figure out how to make up some evidence! Just wait and see how Nadine will react! And I'll also see how the three men in this house will defend her!"

Evelyn had always been unhappy with how her husband and father-in-law protected Nadine. She even wondered if Nadine might be an illegitimate child from an affair her husband had. Otherwise, why would Daniel give her so many special favors?

He had even given shares of his money, stocks, and property to Nadine, while he seemed less interested in his own wife.

After conspiring with Gigi for a while longer, Evelyn picked up the tray from the floor and quietly left the room to go back to Clover Villa.

When she got to her bedroom, Daniel still wasn't home. She looked at the clock in annoyance. "Always going to the hospital! He might as well live there and be a perfect son. Don't come home!"

She checked the front door from the window to make sure Daniel wouldn't be coming back soon. Then, she went to another room, took out a different phone, and made a call.

"It's me. I need you to do something for me. Don't worry. I'll make sure you're well paid for your help. Just wait for me. I need to explain everything in person. It's too complicated over the phone."

Ten minutes later, she was dressed nicely and told the maid, "I'm going to Emily's house to play cards. If Mr. Hamilton Senior asks about me, call me."

The maid nodded and replied, "Sure thing, Mrs. Hamilton. Have a good time."

Nadine sat on the park bench, hiding her face in her hands because she felt so hopeless. As it got darker and colder, she knew she had to leave.

In the huge city, she felt lost and with nowhere to go. It was almost funny how stuck she felt. Just then, her phone rang. It was Avery.

They had planned for Nadine to pick up Sean after work and go to Rose Garden to meet Avery. Now, it was already dark, and Avery hadn't seen her yet.

Avery's voice on the phone sounded worried. "Nadine, where are you? It's dark now, but you're not home. Did something happen on the way?"

Avery had been getting ready for their visit. She had gone shopping for all of Nadine and Sean's favorite foods and was waiting to cook for them.
