Sean contemplated whether to answer the call. Just a moment ago, he was resenting Brad for making Nadine sad. But now, seeing Brad's call, he was conflicted. After staring at his ringing smartwatch for a while, he finally decided to pick up the call.

After Brad finished accompanying Jean for her checkup, he sent her back to her ward. Using the excuse of work, he left without looking back.

Nadine stood there with her head lowered, biting her lip. She nervously twisted the hem of her clothes, clearly at a loss. After being yelled at, she ran out with flushed cheeks.
