In Adam's view, Brad might be a bit of a jerk, but he shouldn't be this clueless.

Even with his failing eyesight, he could see well enough.

When he saw Jean following Brad, he felt utterly dismayed.

For a moment, he thought he was seeing things.

He called Travis over, hoping to hear that he had been mistaken.

However, his face fell when he heard Travis' response. "Mr. Hamilton Senior, Mr. Hamilton indeed brought a woman with him. It's Ms. Sawyer from the Sawyer family."

Fearing that his words might upset the elder, Travis spoke in a hushed tone, almost like a whisper.

"Mr. Hamilton Senior, please don't get angry. I'll go talk to Mr. Hamilton."

Adam sat frozen in his seat, his eyes filled with seething anger.

He couldn't believe Brad brought Jean to such an occasion.

Just moments ago, he had called Brad to remind him that Nadine was determined to divorce him and that he should be careful. But the call went unanswered.

Assuming Brad was likely driving, he hadn't pursued the call further.

Who knew that this damned fool would give him such a surprise?

If he weren't old and unable to confront Brad, he would have taught him a good lesson.

Infuriated by Brad's actions, Adam even regretted having him and glared fiercely at Daniel.

The look seemed to say, "How could you produce such a useless son? You should have used protection."

Caught in the crossfire, Daniel, who was unfairly targeted, stiffened at his father's glare. Fearing the anger might turn toward him, he quickly turned his face away and pretended to talk to Evelyn.

After taking the water cup away from Sean's lips, she asked him, "Do you want more to drink?"

Sean shook his head. "No thanks, Mommy. I can manage with my left hand. My right hand is not injured. I'm fine on my own."

Then, he added, "Mommy, you look especially beautiful today, just like a fairy."

Nadine smiled and gently caressed Sean's round little head. "Was I not beautiful before this?"

"You were beautiful before this, but not as much as today. Your clothes are all sparkly and shiny today, just like the stars in the sky."

Sean's innocent words made Nadine's heart swell with joy.

As they were chatting, the entire banquet hall fell silent.

It was as if the atmosphere had frozen.

All the guests' eyes were on Nadine. Even Gigi looked at her smugly.
